That's kind of much for a guy who hasn't done a lot.
Maybe I'm just mad because that guarantees my team will have to pay Letang 6+. Oh well.
I usually don't get upset by ignorance, but that's almost beyond stupid.
Yeah, it's not like he was a top 10 defenseman in scoring in 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 (beating Letang both years), then still top 30'd while missing 20 games this year. While also being very good defensively. It's not like he's good on both ends of the ice and is consistent year after year.
Also yes, you'll finally have to pay Letang real money, the writings been on the wall for awhile with that one.
Good offense on the backline, but suspect defense from the group. And since their job is defense, that is worrisome.
First two lines should be good if they have chemistry. Could be a problem if there isn't chemistry or they have even one injury; not enough offensive talent on the team to compensate.
Pavelec is an above-average goalie, could be more. And the backup is not by any means a proven quantity. If his form dips and/or the backups don't exceed expectations, there's trouble.
Not to mention an overall lack of organizational talent/depth. Their prospect pool is not stocked, even by those who see it more rosy than most.
They could surprise, but unless a lot changes there is a good chance they won't. Not for a while at least.
Looks like a hell of a Dcore if they can keep them together. The team's in dire need of a #1 C (Kane could eventually crack 50g alongside a true playmaker) plus an additional RW on one of the top lines.
