St. Louis Blues Top Prospects #3

Schwartz ran away with it, no point in delaying the inevitable here.

Top Prospects:
#1 Vladimir Tarasenko, RW, 6'0, 191, 12/13/1991
#2 Jaden Schwartz, LW, 5'9, 179, 6/25/1992

Please vote and also include a recommendation for the next prospect to be added to the list.

Veilleux, Eronen, and MacEachern can all be added in the next polls.

Jaskin, Andronov, and maybe Grachev are all options as well.

The next 4 or 5 are all going to be out of the same group that is already there, so it doesn't matter that much who is added, but dear god we have a pretty deep prospect pool lol.

it's pretty much a toss up between Rattie, Allen, Cole, and probably Schmaltz for the next few spots

Even if I thought including goalies was worthwhile, I'd never vote for Allen in this spot. People would really rather hold on to Allen over Rattie if they could only keep one? Really?

I went with Cole. If Rattie has a similar season as last year, he passes him. Right now though, I'd go with Cole. We should see quite a bit of him this season. Looking forward to it.

This is a tough one, as it is difficult to rate forwards, defencemen and goaltendders versus each other (especially, when they ALL have much work ahead of them to play at star level in The NHL but also all have high upside potential. Cole is nearer, but both Allen and Rattie have higher upside potential (but with much more risk involved to reach that highest level).

I'm just going with gut feeling here, that Rattie will be a special goal-scorer. I also think that Cole will be a very solid, good defenceman, who will make a couple of all star teams during his career, and Allen will be a quality NHL starter. But, in reality, I could have chosen any of the 3 here.

Had to go with Rattie here, tough choice though between him Allen and Cole. While the other two are closer I just feel that Rattie's ceiling is much higher.

I'd say that Cole and Allen are just about equal with Rattie being a mere smidgeon ahead. I went with Rattie, but all of them had a very strong case.

There should be a button at the bottom of each screen of the mobile version of this website that says, "go to desktop version". Click that and you'll be able to vote.

I went with Cole because he is ready and should be a top 4 DMan. Rattie may turn out to be PPG goal scorer that the Blues need. He still has some work to do. If anyone gets hurt we may see Allen get some time with the Blues. I'd love to see what he can do. (Not at the expense of an injury)

Went with Rattie, but only barely over Cole. Allen was right in the mix too.

Had to give Schmaltz a hard look too. I know very little about him, but his scouting reports sound eerily similar to Petro's. Maybe he could be a poor man's version of our stud d-man?

I saw comparisons of Green for Schmaltz. He won't have to be rushed, but I do wonder if he goes the full 4 years in college.

I went with Cole because he's closest to NHL-ready out of all the choices given... but I have a feeling that, in the long run, Sam Kurker may turn out to be better than any of them.

Next round I'm voting Cole. He's sort of the tweener not quite a true prospect but per the HF rules he's still shy by 13 NHL games.

After that I might be tempted to go Hakanpaa. Even over Schmaltz. Schmaltz' total lack of physicality troubles me. Hakanpaa needs only to improve his skating (it's actually pretty fluid once in motion, just those first couple steps) and he could be one of the great 4th round steals. He is a boom/bust who looks very promising to boom.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Hakanpaa definitely could be a game-changer.

Also I think Wannstrom should be added to the polling ahead of just about everyone suggested. Definitely ahead of Jaskin, probably ahead of MacEachern (though I like that pick), probably ahead of Tesink, Veillieux, Eronen and Grachev. But all of those guys are close enough where it could be just a bigger poll including more guys.

Jake Allen, he has made transition to pro very well. Cole and Rattie close behind.

Went with Rattie. He's got the top potential here IMO and while he's not as close to the NHL as some others, I think he'll eventually make it just fine.

Although he really needs a good follow up season to prove it wasn't a fluke, Rattie's season last year make him the most intriguing prospect outside of Tarasenko and Schwartz in my book.
