Normal version comes with goggles (I think), collector's edition comes with an onion hat. Both items are neat but not incredibly useful post level 10.

Ah, no, only legacy people get special things probably. You'll probably get into beta though, so that counts.

If you are buying the Ps3 version, it'll be 39.99 when it launches.

One HF member started up last night, got him into the Ls and all settled in, more should be joining us soon!

Are you guys strict on multiple shells? I'm in Neutral Impact, but wouldn't mind chatting it up. There's one guy in my shell who is sort of a Rangers fan, but basically no one cares about hockey.

We don't have a huge hockey fanbase yet in shell, but we really don't mind people with multiple linkshells

For Ps3? Nope

For PC? You can start leveling and experience the pre-end-of-the-world content

Well I'm pretty happy with the game so far. Definitely haven't encountered anything that seems broken so from what I hear about the original launch that means it has come a long way lol.

The game is definitely going to be more enjoyable for a newbie with someone to help get you started and answer all your noob questions. Thanks Orpheus.

With all the upcoming changes I've read about in this thread and on other websites it seems like the re-launch is going to make for an awesome product.

P.S. I got the collector's edition from newegg so I have a 30 day code someone can use. (assuming its still valid. some of the stuff in the box is expired)

Not that i'm complaining but it seemed liked Conjurers could easily break faces even on mobs that were 4 levels higher did you notice that too Orpheus?

If what i am reading on this site is correct then yes you start as Pugilist The site seems to be correct so far. If you click on the starting path from the Discipline you are looking at it will tell you lower on the page what Soul Crystal you use in conjunction with it.

All classes can annihilate mobs 2-3 levels higher than it, but they need gear and more skills to add to their bars (some from other classes like second wind from pugilist)

And yes, monk requires pugilist 30 and lancer 15.

Anyone still playing FFXI? I re-activated my account today since this thread got me jonesing for FF and I can't play XIV until it re-releases on PS3. I'm on Shiva currently.

But I don't want to find a bunch of items for each class! hahaha
But you are very right... Lindros could use his fists in one battle and his giant hockeyaxe in another.

Yup! The end dungeons drop end game armor, and you pick which chest you want by fulfilling certain conditions in the dungeon (finishing it in 25 mins, killing a certain mob way out of the way, opening all the chests, etc) to get the loot you want.

The Primal fights also drop their own unique loot, which are generally the best weapons in the game!

Ifrit:

Garuda (currently best weapons in the game pre-relic):

Moogles drop weapons at all that make moogle noises everytime you hit something.

Best weapons in the game (FFXIV equivalent of FFXI relics and WoW's legendaries) currently require almost all the content done and take quite a big time investment to finish.
