Yeah Olympic swimming pools are... deep. Not sure how deep but ten feet is in my head for some reason. Either way, far too deep to touch the bottom.

Water Polo pools are between 1.8 - 2 meters (5.9" to 6.5") deep.

No, touching the bottom of the pool is considered a foul, and will be called as such. The term used is: "Off the bottom." This will cause the team to lose the ball and cause a turn-over.

However, the goalkeeper in a shallow pool is allowed to stand on the bottom.

When do they show the handball on TV? Have been watching all day the last 2 days on 4 different channels and haven't seen it yet.

I don't think Handball is shown in Canada? They didn't show it in 04 or 08.

Water polo is brutal to play. Especially if you're like me and cramp up after treading water for more than 45 seconds.

I can tread water for a long time it's really not that hard to do. Couldn't say how long cause I've never timed myself.

On international stage in handball Britain is WAY worse than they are in hockey. Simply uncompareable... So that is normal result by all accounts

That's why most 2. Bundesliga matches are sold out?

You're the 1st German I've met that doesn't like handball.

Apparently there are no charging penalties in handball? I forgot the rules. Probably 20 years since I played a game.

She was inside the 6m area, therefore no charge has been called. When you're defending from there the opposing team is awarded a penalty shot.

I don't know why, but I generally don't like sports where you are playing the ball directly with your hand (Basketball/Handball).
For some reason, I like American Football (even if I have not seen many games yet).

But - as Icehockey is the world's best Sport - this really doesn't matter

Watched some field hockey to get my hockey fix...

Couldn't tell which players where 'good' and which where 'bad' because you can't be physical and you can't dangle, speed or agility also being a wash.

The game combined to boredom of a Lemaire's coached team play with the softness of soccer. Not good for a spectator sport.

These guys do run like the wind and it must be alot more fun to play than to watch.

I don't understand why the sticks have to be this short and only right-handed...

Field hockey's certainly more fun to play than it is to watch. The sticks are definitely too short though.

Field hockey sucks when you're a tall guy like me. I hated playing field hockey in high school.

Croatia absolutely destroyed Serbia in todays handball game which was the re-match of the last European Championship's semifinals in which Serbia won.

Spain vs Denmark (two titans of world handball) is the next game and it starts in about a minute or so.
