I would say good puck possession, not great. And when they do lose the puck they often lose the race to the loose puck. I'm not saying they're bad. I just think the 1st line would be much more dangerous if it had more speed.

Almost the same ppg, paid almost the same, etc. Before anyone goes crazy, yeah, i'd rather have Brodz for all the obvious reasons but it isn't like Seto is sucking that much more than anyone else around his pay grade.

Psht, quiet you. The sky is falling dammit!

If we're not going 48-0 this whole damned season, we need to fire-sale the team, puplicly strip the C from Koivu and whip him in the town square, Granlund's a bust(duh), Fletcher has his head up his arse, Yeo should be fired right now! and Cullen truly is our best forward and should be 1C.

Speed CAN be great, but there are plenty of other factors to consider as well. Both Heatley and Koivu are fast enough.

Koivu generally starts out a season a little slow and not at his peak performance. Once he gets warmed up to playing again, there aren't many who cycle better and are harder to get off the puck.

I would argue the expectations are/were higher for Seto, and rightfully so. He has a better offensive toolbox than Brodziak, it's just frustrating not to see it on a consistent basis.

I actually don't want to trade Seto, unless a deal absolutely blew us away, to which I don't consider Niskanen or Despres to be.

The top line has only 4 points that weren't as a result of a PP.

It always hinged on Coyle, and right now I don't like what I'm seeing from him. The trade is not looking good at all.

Im happy knowing that Yeo and Fletcher wont touch that line. Especially since they are the only ones producing and i feel its only to get better as the season goes on.

I just cant get on board what so ever with some of these ideas or thoughts.

But they're not scoring 4 goals a game! We must break them up!

We're running out of options to tinker with. I mean come on. We've tried everything and something still isn't jellin' the team together. I know. No training camp - shortened season but come'on. We've basically thrown the kitchen sink to the wall.

Well get god-awful Cullen off that second line and replace him with Butch and maybe we'll see Seto start scoring some goals.

I didn't like what I saw from Phillips the second he stepped into the AHL, in my mind he's a bust already and Coyle isn't looking too great either.

Unless it's an overpayment. And why is Coyle a bust?

I would say hes untouchable at the moment. I actually hold Larsson in higher regards than i do for Coyle and Phillips. Johan has looked impressive.

1. Zucker
2. Larsson
3. Coyle
4. Phillips

A lot more than what we're seeing. Zucker is so far ahead of him right now.

Nobody is untouchable, but Larsson would be a tough grab. That's one prospect I wouldn't be looking to deal.

Can't we adjust the roster by sending or waiving a few players? Like sending Mitchell and Granlund to the AHL and calling up Zucker and Larsson?

Parise- Koivu - Heatley
Bouchard- Brodziak - Zucker
Cullen - Larsson - Clutterbuck
Powe- Konopka - Kassian

I know points is the key, but they've also had a lot of productive shifts 5v5.

I haven't seen anything that says he couldn't be an contributor to an NHL top6. He'll probably never carry a line, but he can definitely still be the "3rd best player" on a line with (for example) Koivu and Parise.

So, moving Larsson in a deal for one of those young Pens defensemen doesn't help you guys enough to justify it I guess? Which is fair, but it can't hurt to inquire (as if I'm Ray Shero).

Our scouts appear not to be allowed in Sweden or Finland anyway based on how we've drafted recently. So our guys probably haven't seen much of Larsson anyhow...

I only ask because I don't care much for Seto, even going back to his days in juniors...but we'll see how it turns out I suppose...it's not like we can't use NHL-level defensemen right now (you guys can relate, I'm sure), but Despres seems to not get picked over a slug like Engelland...

I'd trade Coyle before Larsson, and I don't want Coyle traded either...so yeah, it would have to be a rather lopsided deal before Larsson gets moved.

My take...if you guys don't want Setoguchi, we have no deal to make.

What exactly have we tried, as far as I'm aware tonight will be the first game with different lines?
