I've seen one episode of it and would like to watch more, except they ham it up to the nth degree and make it a 'reality' show. If it were a more straight up presentation I would like it quite a bit. The host/lead guy seems to know his stuff.

I like the show, but this has become so over the top since last season.

For some reason it never seems to record, but when I do see the rare episode, I enjoy it. I'd also suggest looking into Hotel Rescue, or something like that... another good one, as well as Restaurant Impossible on Food Network.

I'm watching the episode "Angry Hams Garage", and ex Bruin Lyndon Byers is involved with the bar that's featured.

I saw that one. He does not come off looking great at all. He really pissed off the city officals.

Great show. The prideful owners are always so dumb on these shows, though. Why invite the guy to help your restaurant and then refuse to acknowledge there's a problem?

This is no different than the other shows out there. Restaurant Impossible, Hotel Impossible, Bar Rescue, and Hotel Hell are all the exact same. Just like when Storage Wars first came around, it was great, now that crap is saturated as hell and there's soooo much staged and just fake stuff. Hope that doesn't happen with these, but never know when someone will want to script a show like them.

8 straight episodes were on the other night and I watched them all, really fascinating show - my family used to own a restaurant and it was interesting to see to what depth the host knows his ****. There are some "reality tv" moments but I blame that on ****** producers, otherwise the show's pretty fun.

That Piratz bar was hilarious.

I watched an episode last night and liked it, it featured a bar called "Downey's" in Philly. Although they made it into a kick-ass bar, I'd still never go to the place because the owner seemed like a complete idiot and the way he kept the bar/kitchen before was disgusting. I can't imagine eating at that place after what they showed on TV.

That seems to be a common theme, and more times than not... I'm pretty happy about that as it means they're closer to losing their business. Most of these owners are just complete A-holes and deserve to suffer from it.

Not only that, but it sickens me how much these terrible owners get in free stuff. Some of these bars have to be getting easily $50K plus worth of labor, renovations, tables, computers, etc.

Yea, pretty pathetic that these owners get their bars renovated for free and then still blow it. You could tell this guy was just not fit to be the owner of a bar/restaurant.

No kidding. Especially since 95% of the time the problem is with the management in place, which doesn't change when he finally leaves. Most of these bar owners try to be somewhat of a manager at the least, and don't higher a proper one... and don't have the experience to or tools to successfully run a bar. Problem for them is, they're too stupid and ignorant to realize that, and don't want to pay someone to do a job they think they can do... that they absolutely can not do.

There are so many crap restaurants/bars out there it's a shame.

I thought my mother-in-law was just a picky complaining ***** when it comes to food and restaurants, but shes right. You pay good money and most of the time you leave with a bad taste in your mouth, in more ways than one.

(the mother-in-law complains about any food that passes her lips, it doesnt matter, even if she makes it herself she complains)

My MIL is exactly the same way. Also doesn't help that she only eats about 6 different things. I hate going out to dinner with them, and we do it weekly... Not to mention she has the shortest fuse ever, and won't even give a restaurant a chance to fix whatever mistake she'll eventually point out even if they try to fix it immediately.

I notice the guy is learning from his past mistakes like the pirate bar where the people didnt like his changes even though they were complete idiots. He is toning down a little and consulting with the owners before completely revising the bar, he is at least showing them his master plan and getting their nod.

He was way too arrogant and pushy before, Im glad to see that he is adapting a little.

I can't handle a tv show where the whole thing is yelling and screaming. If I want to endure that I'll go babysit my nephew. Watched one episode and don't think I'll see another. Not my thing.
