GDT: River Rats vs. Wolf*Pack

This is the game that should have been on TV.

It's 4-0 Albany late at the 2nd Intermission. It's almost like the Devils are playing the Rangers.

1st Period
Albany - Adrian Foster (Ilkka Pikkarainen, Tuomas Pihlman) 17:03

2nd Period
Albany - Ryan Murphy (Dean McAmmond, Pascal Rheaume) 3:25
Albany - Pascal Rheaume (powerplay) (Dean McAmmond, Aaron Voros) 7:42
Albany - Pascal Rheaume (Dean McAmmond, Ryan Murphy) 12:19

Ari Ahonen has saved all 17 shots that he has faced, and Jason LaBarbera has been replaced after letting in 4 goals on 16 shots on goal.

Rats SPANK WolfPack 5-1! Snap 11-Game Losing Streak...

WOOO Rats WIN!
HOLY COW the Rats spanked the Hartford WolfPack 5-1 in Albany. The Rats snap their 11-game losing streak which dates back to December 11, 2004 where they last won a game. This was a big win for the Rats tonight. Kind of figured they would be up for this game. Nice win by the River Rats and the 11-game losing streak is history. Big games tonight by Pascal Rheaume with 2-goals and 1-assist and Adrian Foster with 2-goals. Glad to see Foster is healthy and putting a spark into the Rats. Dean McAmmond had 3-assists in this game vs. the WolfPack. This was one of the biggest wins for the Rats this season.

Rats are now 10-20-4-4 on the season with 28 pts.

it was great to finally see them win, although the third period was terrible to watch with so many penalties called. the knee-on-knee hit on pihlman looked pretty bad; and l wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it turned out to be an ACL injury.

oh yeah, they won a game. Give them an auto birth into the Calder Cup playoffs. What a sad year for hockey this really is. Im flipping through channels and I come across Swedish Elite League's Modo v.s Linkoping (sp?), and AHL hockey's Edmonton Roadrunners v.s the St. Johns Leafs. What a load of garbage, the hockey is very stale, it's good to see the maybe 20 or so future stars, and then watch career minor leaguers, yeah, great fun. ****. Sorry just had to vent here.

Good for Foster, hopefully he can stay healthy!

Oh, crap, I completely forgot about this game!

OH CRAP THE RATS BEAT THE WOLFPACK! DECISIVELY TOO!

OH HOLY SCHNIKES ADRIAN FOSTER PLAYED AND SCORED!

I am a big fool for playing Diablo II instead of listening to this game on radio.

Exactly. If Foster stays healthy he will be very good for the rats who have missed him for most of this season so far. Foster is going to be a good player to come for the Rats and the Devils if he stays healthy. he is one of my favorite Rats and if he did stay healthy he would have a breakout season IMO.

The Rats came out with some extra jump in their step against the New York Rangers affiliate, moving the puck around well and backchecking hard to limit the Wolf Pack’s offensive chances.

Haven't seen Parise's name on the score-sheet either. Poor kid is in a slump. Can't remember the last time he scored, unless I haven't been paying close attention.

From the Times Union,
Quote:
Voros returns: Rookie forward Aaron Voros, who got off to an exceptional start before a slump and a couple of injuries (calf, ribs) set his season back, should be back in the lineup tonight for the Rats.
Voros played both on Friday versus Hartford and on Saturday against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
