Rene Bourque

I don't think the management is thinking about shipping him out of Montreal as of right now unless we bring Galchenyuk to play LW or we seperate the Pacioretty - DD - Cole line and make Cole or Pacioretty play on the LW on the second line with Plekanec and Gionta.

Bourque is known to be a close to 20 goal scorer while having consistency problems. He has size and can use it well when he's in his game. Average player in the defensive zone. Basically he's a perfect player for a team that is looking for secondary scoring for the end of the season and the playoffs.

A package could also be made adding Y. Weber who can be a good depth defensmen that can bring some offense for a playoff run.

I'm sure plenty of teams would take a chance on Weber for the right price.

No one wants Bourque is what you were looking for.

Anyways I know the management isn't going to dump him right now unless Galchenyuk can take his spot in the Top 6 and Armstrong/Moen on the third line so I was more thinking of this as a deadline trade if Habs are out of the playoffs and a team is looking at secondary scoring for the end of the season and the playoffs. Same thing for Weber. Although Weber could be moved right now compared to Bourque.

Bourque has the ability to take a game over and when he does, he the best player on the ice. But those days can be few and far in between. It's a shame because when he first arrived in Calgary, he showed glimpses of being a dominant player. But his consistency is his biggest issue (like many players in the league).

I'd reject since the scenario is Montreal is out of the playoffs so our 2nd could turn out to be a high one. Gagne is getting older while having injury problems. He'd be an upgrade to Bourque but considering the scenario, Montreal declines.

gagne had surgery already in the offseason and is back to 100 % He was quoted saying something to the effect of I havnt felt this good in years. Im also willing to make that a conditional 2nd based on him playing 70 games healthy scratches will count as games thou.if 45 -69 its a 3rd less that 45 a 4th

I highly doubt Los Angeles is wanting to ship out Gagne, and if they do it won't be for a replacement, as they have a flood of players that could fill their third line. He'll either be traded in a package, but most likely just not re-signed next season.

Rene Bourque is fine where he is - give him more than 36 games on the worst team in the conference before you ship him out for spare parts . Stop making thread about him, there's one every other day.

Ottawa would give up Peter Regin and a 2nd round pick for Rene Bourque.

He's getting close to negative value. If he doesn't start playing with heart again, he'll be out of this league faster than he can blink.

Not much interest in Bourque and zero interest in Weber.

Isles love how 6'4 Brock Nelson is developing. They think he or Strome, will be their future #2 center. He'll head to Bridgeport for his 1st pro season.

Isle had 3 pmd rookies, play in the AHL in 2011-2012. Donovan was 4th among all AHL d-men in scoring. De Haan as named to the all-star team. Ness looked very poised during a brief 8 game nhl call up. I can't see the isles making a major trade to add either Bouque or Weber

With 6 lws on the roster right now Gagne is the odd man out. Brown is a part of the core and therefore wont be moved. Penner and King were just resigned so not moving.Clifford is suited for 4th line duty so keep him. Richardson handled spot duty well last year so hes kept as a 13th forward healthy scratch most nights.

Borque is a player thats played under sutter in calgary. So hes very familar of playing with him I think he could have a fine season or two playing with stoll and king. Nolon can go down to the ahl without passing thru waviers. He does play both wings so i put him on the right side.

No. I would hate to trade Poulin, he's got #1 future star written all over him.

Don't trade tiehr Bourque or Weber unless the price is right, both are at their lowest value and will be valuable for the Habs this upcoming season.

I think Montreal fans should hang onto Bourque. The guy always turns it around when you think he is finally gonna fall off the face of the Earth.

I expect to see 25+ goals from him next year.

As someone who watched Bourque play for years, he has to end up in the dog house before he starts playing well again, and its a vicious cycle.

Bourque probably has more value that what he could fetch.

Therefore I say we should keep him and see... The guy is still a decent scorer, big body and can play when he wants to

It is like the age old saying:
Buy low, sell high.

Why would the Habs want to trade him when he is at his lowest.

-He played on a team that finished last in the Eastern Conference last year.
-Played for a coach who got fired at seasons end.

Give him a fresh new start with a new coaching staff and new management. He is only making 3.3 million and has a good shot at netting 20 goals a season. That is a good contract for a secondary scoring player. That is what he is.
