"The buzz continues to escalate throughout the Fraser Valley real estate community that Francesco Aquilini has his sights on buying the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre and the land it occupies. By extension, Aquilini would cut a deal with the Calgary Flames that would result in the Vancouver Canucks’ No. 1 farm team, the Chicago Wolves, switched to Abbotsford."
"Cutting a deal" isn't that simple since the Flames own that franchise. They have held onto it for a long time, even taking it dormant for a while, so not sure why they would sell it now. Besides, it sounded like a swetheart deal in Abbotsford, so I'm not sure what their incentive it to sell and/or leave.
Even if this group acquired the franchise, Calgary would have to look for options on where else they could affiliate. When Atlanta left, the Wolves noted there were a number of teams looking to affiliate with them, so it wouldn't be a given that Calgary would go to Chicago.
The Chicago Wolves = 2008 Calder Cup Champions!
