They are having a grand opening event this weekend. 20% off everything in the store. Zach Parise is also supposed to be there today (I didn't see him when I was there about an hour ago), and John Tavares will be there tomorrow.
I just took home a new Easton ST, a Warrior AK27 shaft, two Easton ST blades, an Easton ABS blade for outdoor and a three rolls of tape for under $300. They also threw in a hockey bag because the purchase was above a certain amount (not sure what the threshold is).

I drove from Philly to take my nephew for his first pair of skates. The customer service was awesome as the guy really took care of him to get a pair that fit him.
Parise did not attend the event as he just had surgery.
It was actually really cool today. The store itself was amazing with a million things. Henrik showed up. He answered some questions and didn't look too sick. He game in a black lambo which was awesome. He didn't sign anything because his agent/ body guard was an ******* and wouldn't let him sign anything even though it looked like he wanted to.
Kovulchuck also made an appearance a couple hours later. He was a half hour late so everyone was mad at him. I got him to sign a puck even though I'm a rangers fan. I told him he did great in the shootout the other day he snickered and said "I know right." Overall it was a really cool time meeting these two players.
So has anyone been to this location recently? How is the selection there? Amount of clearance items?
Was there a couple weeks ago. So much in the way of selection on pads, gloves, and helmets. They have an entire section for goalie gear and an unbelievable amount of sticks. There was basically no clearance items though, at least when I was there.

I just bought my whole kit there and got about 15% off the whole purchase. They also have a bin with a bunch of sticks for pretty cheap as well as discounts on their website. The store is amazing though.
For a metropolitan city in a hockey country, Vancouver is pathetic when it comes to hockey gears.
I've been to the Sportschek in Richmond Center and Metrotown, both locations have limited selection. Also been to a few shops at rinks and Cyclone Taylor.
I'll be swinging by "The Hockey Shop" in Surrey in a day or two. Hopefully they carry more stuff there.

I feel the same way about Chicagoland. We have a bunch of Total Hockeys and a few Gunzos (local shop), but I would expect a superstore of some sort in the area. I guess that is just my wish.
