Flyers Point Projections 2012-2013

Let the biased-ness begin, list all the players on the flyers roster that will play the majority of the season and how many goals, assists, and total points they will all end up with at the end of the season higest to lowest, just for fun since Doan is taking forever and there isn't much to do!

My lineup:
Hartnell/Giroux/Voracek
Simmonds/Schenn/Briere
Fedotenko/Couturier/Read
Rinaldo/Talbot/Wellwood

Coburn-Grossmann
Timonen-Schenn
Meszaros-MAB

Bryz

Though Briere is not as good as he was, cannot see him getting less than 50 points if he plays 70+ games. Though I also think Mez, Coburn and Schenn will get about 5 more points than they are at here. Really can't see Grossmann getting more than 12-15 either.

Pretty good projections overall, but I expect more than that for Briere and Couturier. Couturier played on the 4th line and on the PK, and he almost got 30 pts as a rookie. Playing top 9 could raise that amount by a lot. He could maybe hit 50. His offense is underrated. Briere had a bad year, he'll bounce back.

I agree with this and I'll add that I think Giroux and Grossman will both be slightly less, but wellwood will be slightly more.

My own opinion is that Giroux will get as much ice time as possible to hit the century mark in points; Voracek should see a huge increase in his point totals playing with Hartnell and Giroux; Meszaros will become the point man on the power play and I can see him teeing up bombs from the point.

This will also be the year that Bryzgalov rebounds from a bad year and puts up stellar numbers.

It is kind of a shame though that Eric doesn't have his brother's hands. He'd be force of nature with that speed if he did.

As much as I would love to see it, I dont see the team scoring 36 more goals than last year.

My numbers would look something like this

Giroux - 32-69-101
Voracek - 23-43-66

Thought I'd give this a shot and see how I do by the end of the year... (if there is a full season)

Giroux 30-70-100
Voracek 25-52-77
Hartnell 33-35-68
Briere 24-38-52
Simmonds 24-25-49
Couturier 20-30-50 +25
B. Schenn 26-25-51
Read 20-24-44
Meszaros 8-25-33
Timonen 3-26-29
Coburn 5-27-32
Talbot 20-20-40
Fedotenko 12-15-27
Wellwood 13-15-28
L.Schenn 3-22-25
Grossmann 2-15-17

Bryzgalov 42 wins - 2.20GAA - .923 SPT

EDIT: Obviously best case senario for a lot of players and injuries will keep this from happening. This assumes 82 GP for each guy so I am bound to be off.

Overall, too many goals from D and Bryz expected save % too high. Timonen above 6 goals is a stretch and Bryz around .920 is high IMO.

I still think people are acting like Bryz is going to have an identical year... he had a .909 save percentage in one of the worst years of his career. I think it's safe to say he easily does better than that this year. I gave him a .923 SV% for 12-13, that would put him in the top 10 in the league, which he is capable of being. He could be even higher, but I think that's a fair assessment.
