Jake Allen's potential to be a quality NHL netminder makes me think that we could have a situation (in a couple of years) either like Luongo and Schneider, where Schneider's play forced the Canucks' hand, or like Quick and Bernier, both of which are quite exciting to me.

It's really tough to compare a young goalie, who has a lot of talent, but who hasn't played in The NHL, to a young defenceman, who has played parts of 2 seasons in The NHL, and is developing at a reasonable pace. I have high hopes for both. Cole is closer, but Allen can be the more valuable, IF he reaches his top potential level. But he also has a much higher risk (as do ALL goaltenders), especially when they are farther away in age and experience. The mental component for a goaltender is so important, and also so fragile.

I had to go with Cole, because Allen is significantly farther away, and the risk is so much greater with goaltenders, that it outweighs the fact that Allen might become a much more valuable player.

Went with Cole, though I was tempted to go off the grid and vote for Kurker. He's very far away, but I'm really excited to watch him develop.

Went with Allen here, I see him having a higher ceiling than cole, and being much more NHL ready than schmaltz.

Cole is the vote here; I'd say add Wannstrom since he's coming over this year and was an overager when drafted (is 21 now).

Cole here.

Where the heck are Wannstrom and Jaskin? I'd vote for both of them over some current guys listed.

I voted Allen, but I was tempted to go off the board with Hakanpaa.

I went with Cole. He's too close to deny. I would remove Ponich and add in the Euros since they're probably closer.

Ian Cole will be removed from the prospect list sometime during the upcoming season.
