Well each to his own. I see Ashton more of one than Biggs. But hey heres hoping we are both wrong and both turn out to be true powerforwards.

I know Ashton in his draft year was touted as the best powerforward there was with top line talent.

Maybe Ashton was touted as a power forward, but he certainly didn't play like one in his short stint with the Leafs. I'm going to go out on a limb and say when Biggs plays his first few games in the NHL the opposition is going to know he is on the ice unlike Ashton. But anyway here's to them both.

He was a decent point producer in the WHL. Not great, just decent, two 30 goal seasons (33 and 30) and one ppg season (71 points his last year). This suggests that his ceiling would be a 25 goal scoring second line power forward in the NHL but it is more likely that he tops out as a solid 3rd liner who puts up closer to 15 goals. His offensive upside doesn't appear to be through the roof but it looks like he can be a good solid grinder in the NHL and you need those on your team too.

Yes it is and after thinking about it,

Ashton has the potential to be a Kulemin type player while Biggs has the potential to be a Lucic type player. Take your pick. I know who I pick.

You will be very surprised if you think Ashton plays like Kulemin. Ashton actually has a mean side to him and plays with more of an edge. Let him play in the pros for a bit then you will see what I mean and why he was touted as a top line powerforward prospect. Kulie uses his body effectively to play defense and protect the puck and what not. Ashton brings more by using his body/size effectively for hits, protecting the puck and defense. He is still working on everything ofc, but he hasn't consistently done so as making those big hits, but I am mostly worried about his offensive game than anything really.

i like his skill set. as to his attitude and work ethic. i'm unsure as of yet. he needs to bulk up. that's what i've noticed. always wonder how aulie would have developed here. would have moved schenn back then offers were better from what I remember.
