His average will settle into the low .200s. His absolute ceiling, which he'll almost certainly never reach, is a .250 hitter with medium power. The Blue Jays flat out gave up on him, but some would like to hope that it was their fault that he's mediocre at best. Strike you as a good bet?

I'll say this. Simply with who we have on the roster right now, there is no way Barmes shouldn't be playing, and that play is the exact reason why. BIG play there to at least give us a little momentum.

I have no idea. but I hate when people just assume the worst before even trying something.

Barmes is a pitiful hitter but his defense is solid.

That being said, I will not be happy if he hits next inning. The bottom third is a black hole.

You have absolutely no idea who Travis Snider is.

Yeah, somehow I doubt that Dupree13 spent the last couple months boning up on the Toronto Blue Jays tradeable assets. Give me a break.

Wow! Seriously, have you watch him play before he got traded?

If anybody in the Snider fan club can tell me why I'm wrong without resorting to blaming the Jays for his failure I'm all ears.

you are predicting the future. you may not be wrong, but you also don't actually know what he'll do.

So because we aren't writing him off of 2.5 games we're in the "Snider fan club". Get a grip man.

If Barmes finishes the season with his current OPS, he'll have locked up the 18th lowest OPS by a SS since 1920 and a good chunk of the ones above (below?) were in the the dead-ball era. He has a strong chance of reaching 9-10th place but not likely any higher. That's like from the 2000 or so qualified SS's, he is having one of the worst offensive seasons ever. He's is the 99.1 percentile.

I'll concede that. But based on what I do know, I don't like the odds, and it was just the wrong move at the wrong time for this team.

you can think that. but you don't know that. we gave up a bullpen pitcher for potential. better than trading for a rental.
