You can't do it. The lady I spoke with on the phone first said you can, but then she apologized and said it was shipping only. The shipping is free, so the only drawback is you have to wait a day or two to play it after its release. Worth the 15 bucks you save, I think.

Hey guys, if any of you care, a great way to save money on games that were just released is to go to your local game stop (assuming there's one near you) and if you have have 10-15 minutes of free time, wait in front and if you see someone returning the game you want just tell them you'll give them $10-15 more for whatever Game stop is willing to buy. Usually Game stop buys it back for $20 or so, and that extra money could buy gas or whatever. Just thought I'd share with you guys

The last couple pages of this thread make me feel very old (and I'm not THAT old). Anybody care to reminisce about the good old days of NHL 94 for the Sega Genesis? I'm sure we could play that online once the AOL and/or Prodigy connection finishes dialing.

I had that sucker. First video game I ever owned, in fact.

I was playing NHL 98 the other day, and holy crap. I remember thinking that game was awesome, and now it practically made me smash my controller.

Yup I had NHL 99 on the first computer my dad ever bought. A Gateway with Windows 98, monitor was about the size of a Volkswagon Golf haha.

Could very well be the best hockey game off all time. Game play is so ****ing smooth. HD REMIX WITH CURRENT ROSTERS AND TEAMS PLEASE.

Or you could try here: http://www.nhl94.com/

Never tried it though.

Sonic and Knuckles locked onto Sonic 3 was ****ing god like.

Here is my list:

Streets of Rage 2 - Probably Yuzo Koshiro's finest hour. Even if most of his tunes were....uhm..."borrowed".

If you like SOR try digging around the net for Streets of Rage Remake. It is the game Sega wishes they would have thought of, which is why they forced the team to pull it. However you know how the internet works: Once one person has it..

Remake is every stage/character/enemy/boss from the three SOR games mixed into a fourth game which includes multiple paths. Soundtrack is redone too and you can find it on Youtube.

Phantasy Star 2 and 4

Revenge of Shinobi

Shinobi III

Gunstar Heroes - Former Konami employees jump ship and create a shooter loaded with effects and lots of **** blowing up.

Earthworm Jim - Tommy Tallarico cranks out one of the best soundtracks EVER.

Adventures of Batman and Robin - Jesper Kyd will amaze you with a sick industrial/techno soundtrack. Game is hard as ****, but perseverance will reward you with what may be the most technically impressive game coded for the Genesis.

It will make you new school gamers and rage quit.

Seriously.

1990-1996 were six incredible years to be a gamer (SNES had a great run too), and to be a Ranger's fan. Who knew?

I rediscovered my love for NHL 2002 recently. Mario Lemieux is unstoppable in that game. My lines are:

Kovalev-Lemieux-Jagr
Kariya-Forsberg-Selanne
Graves-Messier-Fleury
Tkachuck-Sakic-Hossa

Hell yeah.

Had that on PC when my PC could actually run new games. It allowed you to import your own music as goal songs. Wasn't easy to do, and took some tinkering, but worth it.

That had the card system too right?

1st boldface: Absolutely. The combo was outstanding.

2nd boldface: I can't believe I forgot about this game. A classic. I'm always Max, the jacked dude.

3rd boldface: No kidding. That game was ridiculously difficult and the soundtrack was great.

I still play NHL Hitz sometimes. My friends and I play a 12 game season and turn of trading A.I. We ended up with players like Gaborik, Bure, Jagr, Forsberg, Pronger...

I rule in NHL 12. Was something like 35-1-2 when I decided to play versus online. I mainly play EASHL though which is why my GP is so little.
