Brutal for Toronto. Maybe Bryz makes sense(in some world) but even then, at the expense of their best center? Fill one hole and make another?

Grabovski is the Leafs best center, as sad as that may be. Bryzgalov wouldn't mesh well with Toronto. No thanks.

Like it or not Grabovski is our best center so if we trade him instantly we need a second line and a first line center

What's the bigger hole & how much difference between option 1 & 2 @ each.
Is Reimer closer to Bryz in talent then JVR, Connolly, Lombardi, Bozak or any other possible center are to Garbovski?

Grabo truly is our best center. Someone who scores 10G is better than someone who scores 20+??

Bryz however; hates Allaire and Burke.

Not a chance worthy of taking with that ridiculous contract of his.

The reality is Toronto is already missing a true #1C as it is. So I'd argue getting rid of your closest guy who resembles one just makes it worse.

I'd rather have Grabovski and Reimer than Bryzgalov and Reimer. That simple.

I would consider dealing for Bouwmeester, but I like Read a lot and I want to see how Bryzgalov performs in year 2 of his big contract. I think the Flyers will play a little more defensively this season in hopes of surrounding Bryz with a more Phoenix-like system. Meszaros plus Laughton (2012 1st pick) for JBo?

Calgary and Flyers also get a lot though. Leafs are getting ****ing Bryzgalov.

So, what you mean is having a Bryzgalov isnt as much important as Having a good defensive system.

What is the point to have a Goalie who is suppose to make the difference if he doesn't make a difference and still need a good defense in front of him?

I remember all these expert saying summer 2011 that Bryzgalov would at last shine behind the great defensive of the Flyers and would leave Phoenix in ruins.

People seem really at lost when it come to explain something like the Bryzgalov vs Mike Smith performance when its rather simple: The difference between goalie skill nowadays is closer than it appear, Smith and Bryzgalov performance this season are explained by luck/normal variance we can expect from a goalie from season to season. It have a greater impact than Defensive/coaching.

And we constantly overestimate the impact of an elite goalie over an average one. Nowadays, the average goalie is so good that everytime there is a thread about the top 5 /top 10 goalie in the league, we will find 15+ goalie named ''top 5'' and 25+ Goalies named "Top 10".

To conclude, since the beginning i was saying it, it was wrong to give that much money to Bryzgalov, not where there was other good and cheaper UFA goalie option in 2011.
