NCAA drops the hammer on incoming BGSU freshman

Incoming Falcons defenseman Ralfs Freibergs has been suspended for 33 games by the NCAA because his junior Latvian team played in a pro league.

This is pathetic, I can't stand some of these rules in NCAA hockey.

That's odd.... I was under the impression that if a player spent a certain amount of time playing non-professional junior hockey that it washed their time in a pro league, be it professional junior hockey up north or in a European pro league.

Guess that's not the case, though.
