Agreed, but Eli's great start doesn't mean he's all of a sudden the best.

As for Rodgers, he's showing a less than satisfactory response to a new system so far into the season. Obviously we need more time to make conclusions, but it's something interesting to look at.

It is a little early but Ryan, Flacco and Schaub have all been quite better than Rodgers this year.

and Rodgers has always been a system QB from the start.

I don't see why Rodgers couldn't have thrown the ball away on at least 2 of those sacks.

He probably could've but as said in the article Rodgers didn't run as much as usual, maybe because he thought Clemons and Irvin had the speed to chase him down.

Three of those sacks he had 3 or less seconds to get rid of the ball from snap to take down. How is that Rodgers' fault?

Bryan Bulaga and Marshall Newhouse have been getting beat too much inside since the exhibition games. That's the shortest route to the QB and just can't happen.
Quote:
The odds were against Rodgers. His coach had an awful, pass-heavy game plan. The noise was excessive. Hungry pass rushers kept beating the tackles inside. His WRs weren't getting open. Of the eight first-half sacks, Rodgers was charged with 2. He was indecisive and held the ball too long on occasion. Maybe he was stunned his receivers weren't separating. Rodgers didn't run as often as usual, perhaps because Irvin and Clemons are much faster than typical DEs and might have run him down. Normally, a QB will start to get antsy in the pocket after taking that many shots. Instead, Rodgers only seemed to play harder and with more focus, and by the fourth quarter he was mastering his tormentors. Once again, Rodgers didn't fumble because of his iron-clad, two-handed grip on the football. The go-ahead drive that he engineered in the fourth quarter might have been his most impressive of the season. Man, that was a courageous scramble on third and 1 at the goal-line. He sold out against WLB Leroy Hill and McDonald, stretched the ball forward and picked it up.

It's not. It's not a zero sum game. Blame can be shared on different plays.

I enjoyed how after Rodger's first down run at the beggining of the 1st he gave the Hawks D a finger gun gesture..........then the cocky bugger got sacked 8 times lmao.

Love him as a QB but it was just to funny to see his cockiness backfire.

For as much as Rodgers like to rip into the refs...they did gift the packers a super bowl a couple years back.

Umm, do you really want to play that game?

This was pass interference on the Packers. Tell me where Burnett interferes or tell me where Bennett doesn't.

That negated an INT and put the Bears in field goal range to win the game. How about helmet to helmet contact against Rodgers in overtime against the Redskins that wasn't called?

We could play this game all night.

Wow, you really can't stand all the attention Rodgers gets. Too bad, you should be happy the Packers have been blessed to go from one franchise QB (albeit with a pregnant pause towards the end) to another.

Not to mention, what other QB is not a "system QB"? Does every team not implement an offensive system or do they just tell the QB to wing it as he goes?

I wouldn't call Rodgers a system QB, but he sure doesn't like this new one.

I hate Rodgers and the Packers but he's the best QB in the league. He can do it all and I would take him over every other QB in the NFL. He hasn't gotten off to a great start but he has also faced some pretty good defenses. Guys like Finley (the most overrated TE in the league) and Nelson have dropped their share of passes as well.

The one problem I have with him is that he hangs onto the ball too long and usually gets himself into trouble. That o-line stinks but it doesn't help when Rodgers refuses to throw the ball away.

So are you saying, under oath that Rodgers has been better than Flacco, Ryan and Schaub this year?

I really do not know how you can say that.

You completely ignore that Rodgers has had to face some of the best defenses so far this year. Niners, Bears and Seahawks. If he struggles against the Saints, Colts, Jaguars etc. then you have an argument and Packer fans can be legitimately worried about Rodgers and the offense.

Flacco got to face the Patriots and Bengals. Ryan got to face the Chiefs, Chargers and Broncos. Schaub got to face the Dolphins, Broncos and Jaguars.

Thus far? No. But season has been 3 games.

But using your logic (1st three games are all that matter), Christian Ponder is one of the top-5 QBs in the game. Would you go under oath and say that?

Season is far from over. Rodgers is near certain to improve his numbers... past history indicates those three will likely drop.

We know you love Favre (I believe you said the league was unwatchable without him and he was the only thing that could save the NFL), but give it up already.

I'd say I'm more of a fan of anyone who plays the Broncos.

I just can't stand Arrogant Rodgers.

Aren't you also the one who said the NFL was unwatchable without Favre and that only Favre could save the NFL?

Which makes your claims of "Arrogant" Rodgers all the more ironic.

Other than Rodgers making Favre irrelevant, what are some of these reasons to dislike him?

I'd like to know exactly what Rodgers has done where we're supposed to accept this 'arrogant' description. I haven't talked to anyone who has a personal dislike for Rodgers, and I don't think I've seen anyone (else) on here either.

Done defending him. He's annoying the hell out of me this season and the whole team is garbage.
