I'd say a team that has recently won will win again, ie. Bruins, Blackhawks, Kings. And yes I think the cup winners will have to get past Vancouver again, so history will continue to put Canuck fans into a deeper sports depression.

2014-2015: New York Rangers
2015-2016: Anahiem Ducks
2016-2017: New York Rangers
2017-2018: Edmonton Oilers

Obviously anything past 2 years in advance is a complete and utter guess.
Where do the Ducks come from in your thinking?

My choices for next year: Hurricanes or Ducks (LA are a solid choice too imo)

Why Hurricanes? Just the feeling that Jordan, Eric and Jeff Skinner will tear it up offensively.

Why Ducks? If Hiller can come back to full form during the regular season, the guy was a machine in the playoffs so anything can happen there. I think Getzlaf, Perry and Ryan will wake up big time and the fact that it may the real final year for Selanne may push everyone to work harder and give their best.
The _ucks have no defense

Yeah their defensive is sub-par. That's why I wish Hiller go back to his old self.

2012-2013-Blues
2013-2014-Rags
2014-2015-Islanders
2015-2016-Edmonton
2016-2017-Nashville

I see minnesota getting wildly overated in this thread. Sure, they landed the 2 most coveted UFA's this year, but I see them being 6-9 in the West. More than likely going to make the playoffs, but id be very surprised if they win the cup.

Doubt the Kings repeat, but this team is in position to contend for a long time. It's really hard to care right now anyway. I'm still in the process if wrapping my head around the fact that we're raising a banner in October.

Nobody in here is picking the Wild to win the cup this year, not even Wild fans. Since the thread title is the next FEW years though, it's entirely possible that with strong development of their prospects along with a core that's not entirely past it's prime, that the Wild supposedly might win it in a few years.

Not trying to be a homer, but I honestly believe the Rangers will be contenders for the long haul and possibly win a cup or two in the next few yrs. (I hope so )

You honestly think a team is winning a cup with Deharnais as a top 2 center?

if he can put 55+ seasons. I have high hopes on him centering patch and cole or a possible 50points scorer danny.kristo or another young gun. Desharnais is small but he can set up his wingers very well. his defensive game is poor but he's average at faceoffs. an underrated player. We could also draft Mackinnon since hf thinks Habs will be a bottom 5 team next year :p

Call him a franchise winger if you want, but he's only ever been that in Minnesota. He's a great player, but not worth NJ committing that money and term-length for.
Yes. 70-80 point players are so easy to replace these days.

And boom goes the dynamite. I love it when people get told off.

Haven't thought about that but yes... That would be oh so sweet! Not to mention all the people in the world not residing in Minnesota saying that NYR will mop the floor with us (if and when it ever happens).
