I just want another center in our organization that can play the center spot with elite skills. I don't care if he has to take a year or two, just want high end talent center. I believe in patience with a prospect so I don't care if it's Monahan(although I would love him and want him the most, since we know Mackinnon is out of the question) or Lindholm, the other playmaking center. If domi shows he can be a top line center in the league then why not him too.

What does Monahan have over Barkov? Beside's being placed higher on Bob's list?

Ristolainen & Barkov will stay in FEL another year or two. Just like Granlund did. There's no need to hurry them. Ristolainen already is #1 dman in his team and Barkov will be #1C within a year.
It usually has a lot to do with contracts. Barkov has a contract with Tappara until 2014-2015 so it's feasible to say that he could be playing in the SM-liiga until then. However it's possible that Barkov has a contract out in his deal that would allow him to leave earlier. He's certainly ready body wise. And at the end of the season if his offense is at the level that Granlund's was at the end of last season (his 2nd post draft season), why couldn't he come over?

Domi picks up an assist on Griffith's goal

Domi is Knights best player out there so far today

What about Mackinnon and others?
Yes, I'd think both Mackinnon and Monahan could help an NHL club on the ice, in other words will be NHL ready.

Putting me on the spot already huh?

He is very raw, but if I had to to compare his upside to someone, let's say a Ryan Getzlaf type prospect.

Domi is such a hard worker out there. Uses his speed and skill to get a scoring chance then busts his butt back on d to get the puck back.

He's the son of Carlton Bailey of the Bills, had some great role models as Pat Lafontaine mentor him, now Spott. I anticipate as the year progresses he won't last to the second rd. We will see. Lots to like, but a very raw talent.

Hard to say at this point. Sometimes he tries to do it all by himself and he can pull it off because he has great hands. The same way Kadri did. The problem is is this doesnt work as well at the NHL level. He will have to adjust his game the same way Kadri has had to. Keep the skill that allows him to create something out of nothing, but find ways to use your teammates better and play strong defensively. He is definitely better defensively than Kadri was and in better shape. One comparison I might give him is Brad Marchand except with a little less physicality and better hands. My feelings right now is that I dont think he could be the best player on a top line, but he could be a good complimentary player the same way Marchand is to Bergeron. Very early though so we will have to see how the rest of the season goes.

He's definitely my favourite Knight to watch.

Here's a good vid on him I found last night:

Very confident kid.

Jason Dickenson has looked draft worthy today for Guelph.

Average games from Zadorov and Bo Horvat. Both had fights. Horvat did pretty well against a pretty tough fighter in Pedan.

Domi makes a beauty pass to set up Griffith for another goal.

He seems like a good kid. However yea he reminds me quite a bit of Kadri in term of confidence.

Domi is rated too high for my liking. His name is giving him a boost no doubt. Wish he had a bit more of his daddy's grit.

Don't dislike him, but not a top 10 pick IMO.

I don't think anyone here is rating him as a top 10, I see him in the middle of the pack really. 15ish.

I've seen him on some top 10 preliminary lists! I don't see it, yet, but it's early and as we know in the prospects game, some players come on like gangbusters at the end of the year.

And some drop out of sight.

true...ebert and matia(I still think pens got a steal) and so on.

However I think there are a lot of skilled players in this draft and some that are going to rise. Aka the Drouins and so one.

Nick Ebert last player drafted, if he can't wake up with that humilation for his talent, there is no hope for the kid.

I like both players, but theres a lot of "ifs" with Barkov for me. Right now, I question his offensive upside. I understand he's been playing against men, but still theres no reason to take a risk on someones offensive upside when Monahan has proven it already on several levels to me.

Right now all prefer monahan is because people can see him here and he's more of a home town boy.
