If we keep Clifford, I hope we have him down in manchester and not as a healthy scratch. He could really use some quality ice time.

All i can say is concusions are serious but there are degrees of concusions. I trust the la medical staff to know what they are doing Its not exactly the frist time the orginization frist concusion. To me he come back to play after his last concusion and played a games. He wasn't seriously concused he played after the consusion in the coyatoes series.

Clifford is a smart player, the only reason he got concussions was I remember he got boarded. He's a smart , strong, and has pretty good hands for a scrapper. He's versatile.

Not me, we don't have players really like him, he has positive attributes. Let's get rid of Richardson or westgarth.

King is a LW not RW.

Our starting lineup will be more like this:

Brown-Kopi-Williams
Gagne-Richards-Carter
Penner-Stoll-Lewis
King-Fraser-Nolan

Even with Richardson and/or Westy gone, Clifford will still be a healthy scratch more often than not. Clifford has to beat out King as our 4LW and I doubt that happens.

Actually, it's Nolan that has played all 3 forward spots. King has only played LW.

that's the problem. If he is a McCarty type his career may be short lived with the concussions he has had already. He needs to pick his spots better.

Maybe he did and I missed it.

But even if you do move King to 3RW and insert Clifford as our 4LW, and Nolan a healthy scratch, I don't think we're a better team with Nolan sitting out. At this point, I like Nolan more than I do Clifford.

I still say Clifford will be best served if he gained some experience down in manch.

Clifford will play this year. We roll 12 forwards and if anyone in the top six gets hurt, they'll promote someone from the bottom six. And if someone from the bottom six gets hurt or promoted, you put in Clifford. We have so many centers playing wing that if a center gets hurt we just move one from wing then plug in Clifford. Richardson will be Clifford's backup.

A lot of you don't want to mess with the team's chemistry and personnel much. I wholeheartedly agree, other than with the addition of a first line wing. Well, Clifford is part of that "perfect, Cup-winning" line up. Unless we get a 2013 1st rounder and more, I have 0 motivation to move him.

Just what has Clifford done this year that you're so impressed with?

I like Clifford, but he had almost zero impact on this team this year.

I think nolon can be sent down without going thru waivers where as clifford never would get thru. Also i think nolon could use the maturing of a half season or so not clifford So i guess we ll agree to disagree

I wasn't aware that Clifford had to clear waivers, so, if that's true, then he has to remain with the kings as a healthy scratch with spot starts here and there.

So I feel this hasn't really answered the question of what kind of return would the Kings want for him?

- Obviously hes a valuable, young bottom 6'er
- What positions would the Kings like to improve in?
- Prospects? Desired prospect position?

The kings need a young sniper talent that can develope in the ahl this year.I think they would perfer it to be a lw winger. Right now we only have one solid top line player developing in toffoli The kings also need a 1st round pick in next years draft. I honestly dont see clifford being traded. I expect the kings to get the above things by trading bernier. If /when we do that we ll also need a backup with some ability to start for a while should quick get hurt.

Yup. I think his offensive potential gets blown out of proportion a bit since he has scored some surprisingly slick goals his first two seasons. Personally, I think his skill set is fairly limited, he consistently skates with his head down when possessing the puck. He just hasn't been lit up yet since he's a tank. I love the way Clifford plays, but I think third liner is his ceiling

i think u forget hes scored them slick goals without much offensive help hunter moreau westgarth arent exactly helping him out. Also isnt playing alot of mintures no pp time either. If he would get more time on the ice his production would go up. I really can see him getting time with richards and carter in the future and lighting it up.

I think the problem with trading him, is a non-contending team wouldn't give you prospects/picks for him. As well, a contending team would likely have similar forward depth and he would be a 4th liner in all likelihood.

I would love him on Vancouver... but the only player he wins a spot over really is Dale Weise on the 4th line.
