Pepe got knocked the F out on the weekend in a clash with Casillas and they didn't want to risk him.

Apparently he had a brain scan and the results came back negative.

Well that sure was nice of Valdes to make sure next week's return will still be exciting.

I still think we'll take it though. Haven't lost to Real at the Bernabeu in so long.

Iniesta and Xavi are just unreal. My insane devotion to this team is always validated by their class and deft. Awesome game overall, everybody tried very hard to behave themselves which was nice.

Valdes, what an assclown.

Alright match. Both teams look in preseason mode still, Madrid definitely more so. Scoreline flattered them as it should have been 4 or 5 for Barça. That's not to mention another **** ref helping them out by not sending Albiol off, twice, before the first goal was even scored.

Iniesta was great. What a player. Messi was good enough, but IMO he should have had a hattrick. Loved Pedro's goal. Brought it down so well.

Viktors, agreed on Adriano. Liked him and he's a good option to have on this team. Glad he's going nowhere this Summer. As for Valdes, my fellow Cules, give him a break. He's come up huge for us a number of times in the past. Lazy play by him for sure, but had Messi done better with his chance at the other end just second before we probably wouldn't be having this conversation.

LOL at Ronaldo. Typical petulance from him. He's more unlikeable than even Pepe.

Messi was a let down for me. He wasn't bad by any stretch but certainly not his usual incredible standard. Agreed on VV and Adriano who was a surprise starter.

Pique was also a + for me, he attack a lot and that created havoc for Madrid. Although I'm not sure where he was on the corner goal but I have to look at that again.

NOBODY is more unlikeable than Pepe!!

Forgot to mention that Xavi's goal was scored when we were down to 10 men.

I thought Messi as fine. Should have had a hattrick and what should have been his first was down to his own creation.

Yeah, I liked Pique too

Messi saved your ass more than Valdes though.

And it's true Valdes came up big when it mattered, I'd even say it's his biggest quality.
But when you lose the league by 1 or 2 points, when every game is important, you have to have a top keeper, who's consistantly a top keeper.
Arsenal has suffered the same thing (only at higher cost).
Stubborness can lead to lost titles.

Hugo Lloris is available, only Tottenham are looking for a goalie, and they're as cheap as they come.
But Barca won't make a move even though they're filled with top 5 players at nearly every postition except one of the most important : goalie.

Rumour is EuroWorld Sport in Canada is being re-branded as in beIN Sport in Canada so it looks like we're finally getting it. Issue right now is that on a couple of providers carry EuroWorld.

Yes, Messi has. Let me be clear and say that I wasn't so much as blaming Messi as I was putting it into perspective.

Well every GK make mistakes. I wouldn't be too harsh on the guy, but Pedro's shot literally went right next to Casillas for example. Anyway, every GK makes mistakes as I said. We had this discussion on a Barça forum and somebody posted vids (plural) of Casillas and Buffon making mistakes. Casillas' for example were horrendous.

When has Valdes cost us the league though? He's saved plenty more points than he's lost.

Barça shouldn't make a move either unless Lloris is fine being backup for a while. There is no need to replace Valdes much less dump 20 million in the process. He's a good GK and perfect for our tactical setup as a sweeper keeper.

Then you very well might be Rosell.

Lloris is IMO a very good GK, but the club would be stupid to replace Valdes much less spend 20 million on a GK right now.

No keeper is perfect and even though Valdes has made a few mistakes lately he's still won 5 Zamoras and made a few huge saves the past few years, including last years super cup.

I hope Rosell waits a few years and goes for De Gea instead or tries to get another keeper who wouldn't mind being a back up and challenging Valdes for his spot.
