The free agent market will stink this summer. Outside of the Perry,Getzlaf and Edler, not much there. Zajac would have gotten very good money. Lupol,Horton and Roy are young enough to get decent money if they are productive and healthy. The rest of the list is full of old guys. Anaheim doesn't like the new CBA because the cap was not set low enough for them. They are afraid of losing their 2 top players. Bob Murray spent the last year trying to trade Bobby Ryan when he had both Perry and Getzlaf months away from free agency. Maybe they thought the NHL would get changes in free agency. Trading deadline is 10 weeks away. Bettman got nothing except 50-50 and contract limits. 8 years for re-signing your own player isn't a short contract. The dumbest lockout ever.
Clearly the plan is to use our compliance buyout on Richards, and then trade Gaborik so we can sign Getzlaf and Perry!!!!111!!11one!!11

Nah. We wait a year, then buyout Richards, do not resign Gabby (after 2 consecutive parades down Broadway ), keep all our RFAs and sign Malkin and a good winger as UFAs instead.
Kane is the only star from that draft. I fully acknowledge that. It's the rest of the draft I'm not sold on yet. Is there a Hart or Richard or Norris winner out of that group? Maybe. Maybe Mac, hopefully.
All that team has done since entering the league is make my life a living hell. I ask them to do one thing for me and that's name Ilya Kovalchuk, one of my favorite non-Rangers in the league, captain. One measly little thing that actually doesn't make me sad.
But no, they ****ed that up too

I'd say that was about as likely as the Rangers stripping the C from Cally and giving it to Stralman.
Ok, maybe that's a slight exaggeration.... but you get the idea.
Man, the Isles are gonna be bad. That defense is a joke. Visnovsky will help, but even with him you're looking at a bottom 5 d-corps. You just know that every Rangers-Isles game is gonna be a battle, though.
