See that Darryl Katz and co wanna move their herd of longhorns from the dreary plains of Alberta to the greener pastures by Seattle. Will the staff now be referred to as trees and the bosses as lumberjacks? And maybe - to save a buck or two - they can hire some homer friendly replacement zebras in on the cattle run to secure a better spot in the standings once they reach Pugot Sound!

From what I heard this morning on XM Radio, the Oilers owner is seriously considering it if a deal isn't reached for a new arena in Edmonton.

That would be pretty upsetting. I'd feel even more bad for the fans of Edmonton. I'm hoping to see that team develop and take strides IN Edmonton not in friggin Seattle. Move the Coyotes there.

I haven't been keeping up on this, but isn't this just to pressure the city of Edmonton into giving them a new arena? After all, the Rangers threatened to leave NYC back in the 1970s and are still reaping the benefits of a property tax abatement.

Yeah, I doubt anything of substance is coming out of that.

Especially when you had Edmonton city representatives like MacTavish and Lowe taking the trip to Seattle. The Katz ownership group is simply putting media scrutiny on the city of Edmonton to persuade the city council to buy in to their arena demands. If Edmonton does move, every Rexall store in Alberta will be burned.

How many other markets have you lived in and watched hockey in? My guess is none. If you had, you would know just how good Joe is.

Long rumored, finally confirmed, Davidson and St. Louis part ways

The Post-Dispatch reports Davidson accepted a buyout offer from the club. (Three years and $6 million remained on his contract.)

It’s not known what he’ll do next. The 59-year-old said in May that, if he left the Blues, he could take another front-office job (he’s been linked to the Calgary Flames and Columbus Blue Jackets.)

He also said he could end up back in broadcasting or just retire.

As an outsider, I certainly miss him.... I'm sure you've all beaten this horse to death, but man, would a return to broadcasting be nice.
