Joe and Sam are good compared to the Pittsburgh crew and the Boston guys.

One of the other guys I really like is Dave Strader.

I thought he did a pretty good job in St Loius.

The article states it was a cost cutting measure and not performance issues.

Would be awesome to see him back in NYC

Would love to hear him back in the booth with Sam, I just doubt you will see that happen.

The Rangers front office has no room for him in any meaningful capacity.

And they can't just boot Joe like that...

But would be great to hear him back with Sam, even if only for a game.

Boston guys are by far the worst. Thank my lucky stars that I moved to FL and no longer have to watch NESN.

Not to mention that, even though it's the cool thing here to rip on him, Joe does a damn good job.

I haven't really been following this story. What were the reasons for the split?

The Rangers staff should totally be in for his services.

Anytime you add a hockey mind like his in the organization, it's a huge plus.

There is no salary cap restricting us for hiring upper-tier management group, so I don't see a reason why the Rangers wouldn't look at recruiting JD, unless he wants to be president once again.

I would love him back, but he's obviously been replaced.

If Micheletti was terrible, which he's absolutely not, then I'd want him back, but Micheletti is excellent at what he does.

You can't just fire Micheletti.

The Blues couldn't afford to pay JD $2M in salary when they already have a GM in place. Dave Checketts gave JD the contract extension. The new owner Tom Stillman didn't want to pay his salary.

I agree. Even if you just have him in a role like the Knicks did with Allan Houston, there's nothing but good things that could come out of it.

It's simple, Sam and JD in the booth, Joe at ice level like Pierre McGuire. Stick the sports archaeologist to the interview room.

No room for him in the front office. Gorton is being groomed as the next GM. Sather will remain president. Clark will remain head scout and development.

Joe has done a very good job replacing JD. The TV/radio crew is top notch.

Columbus and Calgary are interested in his services.

Id be more interested in JD getting a position of power with in the NHL (not one of its teams) the league needs a good hockey mind.

Interview room? Stick him in the mens room as the "latrine orderly."

Developing situation between Badger freshman Nic Kerdiles and the NCAA. Currently, he's ineligible. More to come as info becomes available.

The Kerdiles situation doesn't appear to be an academic situation.

Quote:
The article linked above mentions Kerdiles' reputation as a strong student, suggesting the issue isn't academic-based, though with NCAA rules being as complicated as they are, there's always the possibility for some minor step to be missed in the process. Kerdiles was also drafted by the Kelowna Rockets in the 2009 WHL Draft, so perhaps his relationship there crossed some boundary, though if it did, the difficulty in finding any information on it makes it seem minor enough that any punishments shouldn't be permanent.
