NHL on TSN ‏@NHLonTSN 1m
Parros goes to MTL. Philippe Lefebvre and a 7th round pick goes to Florida. #TSN

Philippe Lefebvre is like a mix between Eric Sellek and Greg Rallo.

Btw, just for your information, Lefebvre is worth nothing. It is just for us to don't have too many contracts.

Why do you think you decided to trade Parros? Wasn't doing the job anymore or..? He is still a good though guy for the fourth line?

We add a possible AHL LW, who went undrafted in 2009, and a 7th in a contract dump trade, which saved us a couple of hundred thousand dollars.

Parros is a good guy and I wish him well.

Can't keep up with the play, didn't get in guys faces even when one of our kids was being pushed around, rarely fights, and isn't very good when he does.

I'm a huge enforcer fan and I'm glad he's gone, should tell ya all you need to know.

Yup. Seemed like all he did was skate around. Didn't throw many checks, and more often than not, his fights killed any momentum for the Panthers.

That was the biggest killer for me, never threw his body around and poor timing. Hoping we claimed Asham, unless he cleared already.

I'd take Asham in a pinch, but not a huge fan there either. Heck... anyone know if Pete Worrell can still skate?

Agree! Watching him play, you'd think he was trying to win the Lady Byng or something.

I feel the need to beat on a dead horse...

Ahem...were we watching the same player? I thought he wore regular shoes when he played.

While this may be true, that man shuffled clumsily at opposing players with a fire in his eyes we haven't seen since. Until Petrovic showed up in March-ish. Worrell may have been a liability on the ice, but he was no moreso than Parros or Barch, and he was WAY meaner. People were scared of that man. I lived in Pittsburgh at the time and saw every Panthers game in Pgh from '95 until '05 (with the exception of one of the ECF games in '96), and Pens fans hated Worrell more than anyone I'd ever heard before. That was always a bit of a point of pride for me.

It was all a joke... I'm just saying that I'd love to see someone with his fire and his mean-streak in a Panthers' sweater again. And the Stache, as much as I liked the guy, was not THAT guy.

Oh no don't get me wrong, I loved Worrell's fight and passion. He really cared about his role and he was good at just that. I'll never forget when Scott Niedermayer slashed him over the head and he turned around (later turned out to be concussed) and gave a fiery stare at Niedermayer before pummeling him. And of course, in the 2000 playoffs against the Devils, when he was being booed in New Jersey and got sent to the penalty box...the penalty was killed off, he leaves the box and scores on Brodeur to silence the crowd, hilarious.

Pretty much this. If Laus (aka. FLA board enforcer expert) is caught hating on a enforcer, he's kinda horribad.

Good riddance to this worthless clown. Maybe we can have a decent fourth line next year!

Interesting words from Laraque on Parros

"I know him and he's a good guy - he will defend his teammates," Laraque told La Presse. "I'm sure that when the Canadiens signed Parros, the Bruins and Shawn Thornton were relieved. In Ottawa and Toronto, they were relieved."

"He's a good guy, but in the NHL you have to intimidate," Laraque continued. "He has a good technique, but he's more like a wrestler than a finisher...Florida wouldn't let Parros go if he was doing the job.

I couldn't agree more about that. He was the most useless tough guy we've ever had
