Looks like the Rampage are raising their level of play. They shutout the mighty OKC. DGM is on a roll. Will the Panthers even consider giving him a look? It's nice to have to many goaltenders instead of not enough. McFarland gets his first two points as a pro, is this the start of him fulfilling his perceived potential? One of his assists was on a Petrovic goal, good to see Petro light the lamp.
The passing play leading up to Petrovic goal was beautiful, and Colby Robak has that great shot from the blueline. He goes a little too high sometimes but it's good to have him there. Good effort from Rampage, they managed to create sustained offensive pressure even with 5-on-5.
OKC was on the 3rd game in 3 nights, I wonder if they were starting to get a bit tired? They had Hall-Nuge-Eberle line together and they all went home with 0+0 and only 3 shots.
There is something very wrong with the Rampage. Toronto was down 2-0 halfway through the game and only had 10 shots on goal. In 2nd half of the game Toronto had 25 shots and 5 goals. You cant pin that all on Markstrom. The Rampage just seem to implode at a moments notice at times.
There's nothing wrong with the Rampage, IMO. It's just what it is. They are so far behind most other AHL teams in regards to talent level during the lockout. Toronto was considered one of the best teams in the league. They started slow, but have been very good recently.
Bottom line, it's going to be a long season here. If the lockout ends, the Rampage are a possible low seed playoff team. With a season long lockout, they aren't even close.
Wow a 3-1 score in favor of Houston after 1 period...and with DGM in net this time. Disappointing to say the least but only plus side is Petrovic scored the goal for the Rampage on assists from Gomes & McFarland.
