It has been 5 days since we dropped off my 1st daughter off to college in Central NY I thought I would be like but I'm not. I miss her more and more everyday. I hate walking by her empty room and her little sister has been sleeping in her room every night since she has been gone. Even with all the fighting they do when they are around ( I may eat these waord in a few months when she comes home for thanksgiving break) I HATE THE SCILENCE AND THE LITTLE RANTS BETWEEN THEM. Meanwhile she is loving it there and has made several friends so far.And her best friend from her hockey team is going to school just 45 mins from her so they can visit. I cant wait for parents weekend in a month to see her again. Meanwhile.... to heck with the tissues... shop towels are for first time college parents !!!
I still don't quite get the point of twitter. Most of the things that are supposed to be funny really aren't from what I've seen. And most things that are important need more space to be explained.
Maybe it's the instantaneousness of the information. I know this site explodes with twitter links when a big deal happens. That's cool (seriously) if you're into that but I don't mind waiting ten minutes to hear about Evander Kane coming to Boston () or whatever it is.
Is it that you can communicate with celebrities and athletes or whoever directly?
Just curious, not putting it down or anything.
That's what links are for. Basically you get headlines really fast, usually with a link to click for more information (usually a full article or blog post or whatever).
That's how I use it anyway. Dreger, McKenzie, etc. usually break stuff so fast that it's nice to get the info quickly, all in one place.
Still not sure exactly how Twitter works, nor do I see a glaring need for me to use it. All of the posts worth reading are copied and quoted here before I would get a chance to see them myself anyway. That goes for both NHL and pro wrestling quotes.
Bah, player names are boring... they're like "I couldn't think of anything else so let's use a player name that wore that number".* How often do roman numerals actually mean something in modern context?
*Except for real legends of course... like 77 will totally have to be the Ray Bourque Edition
