I like a medium size dog, like a Springer Spaniel. Golden Retrievers are nice too.

Just not a fan of slobbering I guess

Yes, cats are incredibly ruthless hunters. For years there were no squirrels, chipmunks or mice at my parents' place because their cats had wiped out the populations.

Now they have a 4 month old kitten named Bruin [yes that's my doing lol]. He's going to be an indoor cat so I look for the rodent population to explode there again.

Rough week.

I was in Cleveland all week at a training seminar...my wife and daughter flew out today to visit her sister in VA...and my son starts hockey camp Monday, and I am trying to scramble around and make sure all his gear still fits, etc.

Doesn't sound too bad, right?

Wasn't, until last night when a guy ran into my daughter's car in the parking lot where she works (I had just landed). Fortunately, she was inside working at the time. Unfortunately, the car was a 98 Escort in really good condition with low mileage, and it suffered a pretty good amount of damage. I'm afraid they will end up "totaling it", and I will not get all my money back.

The guy (25) was driving a Subaru (his gf's he claimed) and must have been speeding given the amount of damage and the fact that it pushed my daughter's car a good 6 ft up onto a curb. Not sure how he managed to miss the corner that bad? Could have had something to do with the two passengers in his car? My daughter said that the driver seemed nice enough and sober, but that the other two were acting "funny" and smelled of alcohol. My daughter had to go back into work, so she was not sure if the cop did any field sobriety tests, etc., and by the time my wife arrived, the guy had left (his car had suffered damage to the bumper and grille, but was drivable).

Now it gets interesting.

The accident happened at roughly 5:15pm and my wife gets there around 6:15, calls AAA, who gives her the number of a tow truck company and the shop where they are going to tow it. The driver calls her and says he is going to have another guy pick the car up because a car drove into a building a few miles away and he is closer to that and it's an emergency. Casually, he asks my wife what kind of car had she said hit our car, and she tells him a Subaru. He laughs and says that a Subaru hit the building, must be a bad night for Subaru and they both chuckle. Later on, my wife has to go down that way, and she sees the hole in the building (a small sporting goods store), but everything has been cleaned up already.

Today, I get to spend a few hours on the phone talking to my insurance company, the owner's insurance company (because I only had COMP on the car, the claim has to be filed through them), the police, and the autobody shop. I give them all the pertinent info and the owner's insurance company (who were very pleasant) tells me that they have not filed a claim yet and that they cannot send out an adjustor until that happens or until I get them the police report citing the driver. I tell them that the report should be available Monday and I will get it to them.

I get a call around 3pm from her insurance company asking me to verify that my claim involved only the parked car and took place at 5:15pm. I told her yes and asked why, and she told me that a claim had just been submitted for the car that hit my daughter's car, and not for my incident, but for a collision with a building at 6:15pm. I started laughing out loud on the phone for a minute, then the woman asked me some more questions about the passengers, but I didn't know anything else. I checked a local paper's online edition and the guy's name was in the story...same driver.

Freaking idiot.

Not sure if he was impaired (maybe it was drugs, not alcohol), he was having seizures or something (seems unlikely), or something broke on the car after the first accident, causing the second one??

Whole thing is weird. I did a little defective work and his supposed GF and owner of the car is 48 to his 25 (maybe she is a cougar ), and why hasn't she filed a claim for the first accident??? The whole thing just seems strange? I wonder if she even knows about that one? Her number is in the white pages and I'm thinking about calling her. Also, if the guy is found to have been impaired, the cop that let him leave the first accident is going to have some splaining to do.

Keep you posted.

Not a big deal, just venting a bit.

Could have been so much worse. I'm just tired because I sleep like **** when I'm away from home alone in a hotel (as opposed to with family you pervs ).

Sorry to hear that, Glory, but happy everyone is ok.

On the bright side, you're not in Cleveland anymore.

What a friggin bananahead.

Glad to hear your daughter is ok.

Parked car? Then a building? Someone has been hittin the bath salts, or something. Glad to hear they're insured, at least. Hopefully they don't total it.

I just got hit for wheels and tires on my car. Have to chase my town for the bill. I hate this state sometimes.

Nope, it was years ago. Right into the wooden rails they have when you turn for the teebox. Smashed right into it.

Golf carts are not well made. one little bump and its hanging together by a string.

I have a small travel pillow that I use at night as a 'cuddle pillow' - took it on the recent boat trip and all was well - now have two, one for the head, one for the 'cuddle'.

I have a strong dislike of drunk texts from female friends complaining about their boyfriends. Especially ones that I would like to date. Stop it.
