Good for Dave Taylor. He may no longer be part of the Kings' staff but he'll always be remembered as a King.

VPoHO is usually also the GM. I assume DT is only taking one role?

I'm glad to see him find another job in the business. He deserves it. We can debate his merit as a GM as much as we want, but he deserves to be in the game and a key part of a team.

Huh? When did Jeff Solomon take over as GM of the Kings?
To my knowledg VPoHO is something that is fairly recent that a few teams have hired and they seem to be more of a cap guru, or cout that needs a bigger title than "head scout"

My bad. I confused hockey with basketball. In the NBA, a lot of the GMs are also the president/VP of basketball operations.

Good to see him get a promotion like that. Just wish I didn't hate the Blues so much

Dave's legacy as Kings GM was salvaged at the 2005 draft when he drafted two superstars.

Good for him. And congrats on the new gig.

HOORAY FOR DAVIE!!!!

The Blues just got 100% better imo. I have several DT favorite moments throughout the years but one of them was during a pre season game somewhere around 90, can't really remember but we were playing the Oilers at the Forum and a kid called DT out to scrap.

DT stops, takes off his helmet and goes to town on the kid. In the end I think DT got worked over a little but landed a few punches. The fight wasn't the memorable part of the incident, it was DT answering the call, turning, taking off his helmet and giving the kid all he could handle.

I saw him make a pass to Simmer during the tripple crown days that was described as "the perfect saucer" by the media (what little we had) and it was amazing but it was DT's heart that made him a King to me.

Would be nice to see a Bronze Statue of DT and the Triple Crown Line out in front of Staples Center wouldn't it ? Hmmmm

Be nice if Luc got one too ... and Kareem Abdul Jabbar while we're at it

Can't give a statue to everyone. I think they have it right who they have, with the exception of ODLH.

Kobe will get one when he retires and I think Quick has a good chance as well, being playoff MVP of the Kings first cup winning team.

That will probably be it for awhile.

I can see it now, a statue of Lombardi holding his hands wide open with the rest of the team in front of him a la the cup photo.....

Hockey players out number the BB statues for once.

To dream......

DT is a stud. Good move for the Blues.

Dave brought us Kopi, Brownie, and Quickie. The core.

Blues are the last 1967 team to never win the Cup. Hmm, looks like they have to wait until Deano is there... Now I don't have to worry about the Blues winning theirs for the first time. In the meantime, I will keep rooting against the Sharks.
