Schwartz

add Niederreiter... you cant punish a guy for being brought up too soon in the NHL on one of the worst teams, while the other prospects on your list have mostly ONLY played junior up to now. If they did they right thing and sent him back to junior he wouldve put up great numbers.... unless he doesnt qualify having played 55 games... whats the cutoff???

still havent spelled BRADEN Holtby correctly, as well as Baertschi

next: Lehner, Murphy, Beaulieu, Elliott, Ceci, Mattaa, Kadri, Stone... Pouliot was drafted high and projected after Ceci/Mattaa. Take out Palmieri as well.

Schultz, Baertschi, or Holtby, IMO

If Grigo was that good, he wouldn't have gotten drafted 12th overall a month ago

Anyone who votes Grigs over Bart, Holtby or Schwartz needs to get a clue.

Not sure what to say about this. You may not like his game, and that's a fair observation, but using one's draft position is hardly a good argument, especially when it comes to top-half 1st rounders. Those that voted Grigorenko here, like myself, really like his upside, simple as that. I'm a swing for the homerun kind of guy, and I think he's definitely the biggest boomer remaining.

Edit: Is the OP asking specifically for next season, or in the future? Cause the wording of his question may have thrown me off a bit.

Well I was a fan of his game before the draft started winding up, but I'm gonna defer to the scouts on this. He fell so far in the lead up to and during the draft that I concluded that my prior assessment must have been wrong.

He's definitely a boom-or-bust pick, but there's guys with similar upside that don't have the same bust factor. If some time passes and Grigorenko establishes that his bust concerns are invalid, then he for sure rockets up the ranks. I think the draft position does matter when essentially nothing has happened since to increase or decrease the value of any players involved.
