I think the personality issue talks are just the board buying into it's own trolling.

I know I'd rather he be more Danny Briere than Sergei Samsonav. The fact we were out of the playoff picture so early had me in the 'do what you got to do kid' camp in terms of retaliation and bad penalties. I saw it as a few months to let the rest of the league know he wasn't another butter soft Cane to be pushed around without consequences.

Yes, only here would a 19-year old who has scored over 100 NHL points and visibly hates losing and getting pushed around be questioned as someone that you'd want to invest in long-term.

That is a really good thing Cause Skinner is one of the greatest young players in the leauge right now like Ryan Nugent-Hopkins

He's just like Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. It's uncanny. Greatest young players in the league.

Wing. He wants to play center someday, but he has been a wing the past two years aside from random spot duty in some games.

He's a winger and if the Staal's stay at center, I see Skinner staying a winger for most of his career. His defensive game is not good enough to justify playing him at center and I think playing on the wing better suits him anyways.

Sucks that JR screwed up the cap system for the rest of the league with this signing. During the inevitable 2012-2013 lockout, we'll know exactly who to blame.

Thanks for stopping by. Buh-buh

I don't really see the negative anywhere in this. Sure, it's a lot of money, but even if Skinner just gets back to the level of play from his rookie season, some money bags team throws down an offer sheet for s***s and giggles and either JR has to match or take the compensation. With the way teams are ready to throw those $100 mil deals out there, it's a good preventive strike to sign him now and do away with the drama.

Yes, it's $34 mil contract that screwed up the whole system, not those $90+ million. Wow your sheer brilliance is on display.

So instead of sleeping, you are making up more dumb Semin-themed usernames. Got it.

Most of you forget that, often.

A link to the statement(s) that are being mocked could be helpful, or to hint what your mocking is sourced from, in some way.

What main board thread? I was being serious

Really though, I'm excited about this contract for a number of reasons. Sure the cap hit seems a little high, but as others have said, I have no doubts he becomes a $6 Mil player by 2014-2015.

I'm not sure he'll be a 6 mill guy either, but I do think he would be a guy who gets it regardless. Guys who can score 50 pts and are under 30 will be getting deals like that it seems. It's like ruutu, it's the cost of keeping him long term.

Sorry about not getting the mocking or joking. Between trying to work for a living and keep up with what's going on in the world, I don't always catch everything. I'm not that active here, but I keep up with the Canes section here.

As for the contract, if JR is going to have to spend some money, this seems like as good a place as any.

Oh I read it on the main board, the Mobile site without avatars and such sometimes makes me lose touch with who is posting.
