He looked good with Vanek a few years back, albeit for a couple games before fizzling out. If we all focus on those two games, I don't think it's unrealistic for him to come out of camp, win a job with the big club, and finally realize his potential as a top 6 forward. Who's with me?

I think Sabres fans could look back on that comment from 2015 and disagree.

I think the 2014-on team has to chance to be really special.

(second column is current NHL team)

I guess that's what free agency will do to you...
The 07-08 team was a shell of those teams.

I bet the same can be said for most teams in the league. Players leave, get traded, retire, and whatever else happens. The key is to replenish what you lose. We haven't been so great at that.

Things are looking on the up for the next few years though, and we're starting to develop the talent we need.

And oh yea, those 05-07 days are gone and aren't coming back. I for one accepted that a while ago.

well they were not good enough, so let go of the past and look to the future! Hopefully these youngsters like Myers, Ennis, Hodgson, and company can bring home the hardware someday. The resources are there to keep them all happy if they do achieve expectations.
