The Wings are not making the picks the Ducsk are. Although I guess we can throw in net years 7th round Hakan pick.

God, I'd absolutely love for all 3 to be gone as a Stars' fan.

Without them, they'd be absolutely terrible unless they get one helluva return.

At worst, only see 1 leaving before the trade deadline.

People talked about Nashville losing Suter and Weber in one off-season at least they have Josi, Blum, Ellis and Klein. I like the Ducks winger prospects but they could however unlikely see Getzlaf, Perry, and Selanne (retirement) all walk out after next season. That would be so much worse. Although I guess at this point last year Nashville could have lost Rinne also. But, still I think this would be worse if those three somehow all wind up out of Anaheim in the next year. Proven cup winners out the door, surprised they haven't been extended yet.

Ryan will probably get traded at some point. I really do think both Getz and Pears will stay. They seem like loyal guys, but they are winners and the Ducks haven't fielded a real solid lineup for a while. Hopefully the management and ownership can turn that around.

The Ducks had a surprisingly bad year and just an awful start that really doomed them. Bunch of guys had down years that I just frankly don't expect again. In a lot of ways I look at them like I did New Jersey last year. They are much better than where they finished and should be a playoff team. That is just my view from the outside though. Really like how they patched their D and I think Hiller will be back without the off-season of vertigo to the player most of us know.

I agree that they probably underachieved. But IMO, the forward group is bad (or way too many questions marks at least) and I still don't like the D group very much, but it's probably better.

I highly, highly doubt any one team acquires two (or more) of these guys in a trade. Value will simply be too astronomical.

FA is a different matter, though.

Perry to Pens at Deadline

If Perry makes it clear he doesn't want to stay with the Ducks and they are out of the playoff race. What would you think it would take? I'd do Despres++. If we had to send either Despres or Morrow,Despres would be gone in my book. What do you say?

Depends what position Pens are in, if they are #1 seed I could see them doing it but if they aren't hes a FA

No. It's just not happening. We don't have any expendable forwards that Anaheim will need. Bennett is a good piece but no way that him +Despres or Morrow or whatever will get it done. It would need to be Neal+ and that's just not gonna fly with the Pens.

I'm guessing the ducks would want morrow/despres, neal, and a pick. I doubt the pens would give up that

Buffalo says no way just for the simple fact that Perry and Getz have one year left on there contract. You don't give up 3 guy's like Myers,Ennis, and Girgs when two of the three could leave after next season

As someone in the Ducks forum posted earlier (I forget who sorry):
Getzlaf and Perry aren't on the block until they put themselves there. They aren't going anywhere until they express a desire to leave.

If one were to be traded at the deadline, I see Murray going after 1.A young roster player 2. Good/Great prospect 3.Picks. Basically a typical deadline deal.

If the Ducks are out of it and Buffalo's in the mix I'll give you Adam and a 4th for Perry

Ottawa would welcome Perry. A package of Cowen, a 2013 1st and Zibanejad should do it IMO.

I could see Perry or Getzlaf re-signing even if they are out of it. They would basically have to come to Murray and say they want out.

Adam and a 4th isn't great value but worst case scenario is them walking for nothing.

Very curious to see how Murray handles all this. Make or break year for Barstool.

If Ottawa offered that at the deadline I'm sure the Ducks would take it and run (assuming Perry didn't want to re-sign).

I can't see them not resigning unless they trade Ryan and they really feel that strongly against it. I think it's safe to say 95% chance they resign with the Ducks

Oh yeah same here. I would probably put it at 80-85% myself that they both re-sign...but you really never know.

What I do know is Murray has been a stingy ******* with cap space for the most part (save Cogliano and Souray). Hope he was making room for their new contracts...which is what I suspect.
