T-minus 7 days to the Czech Republic. I just got "invited" to train at USK Judo, Praha with pretty much the entire Czech national team. I'm excited and slightly terrified. These guys are not only tougher than nails, but they are straight up mean.

I don't understand how people can enjoy Bourbon whiskey like Jack Daniels it's ****ing horrible. I can tolerate vodka with orange juice. Maybe I'm just a beer man...

i lived with two girls for about two years. when i moved in they had the worst liquor cabinet i'd ever seen - a giant costco type bottle of Jim Beam, a crust-encumbered bottle of Cointreau (that had to have been lifted from somebody's parent's house years and years ago) and some of those god-awful plastic bottle mixers, Miller Lite in the fridge and few bottles of wine that could only have been purchased based on the cuteness of the labels.

my normal drinking consists of bourbon or scotch neat or martinis/gin n' tonics and beer. i had that bar in tip-top shape in no time. Stocked several good bourbons, at least one single-malt scotch, good gin for me and decent gin for guests, average vodka and rum, a decent array of liqueurs - Amaretto/Frangelico/Triple sec ect. it was a nice set up for some people who were living as adults for the first time. taught 'em how to mix drinks and everything. got us at least buying the San Francisco/Bay Area beers - Anchor/21st Amendment/Racer 5/Speakeasy.

now to veer off the material that belongs in the beer/nightlife thread and get into some material that belongs in this one - i dated one of the girls and eventually things didn't work out. i ended up leaving tons of stuff there (still bitter about my books, my camping stuff, some kitchen gadgets) but didn't feel too bad about the booze. felt i did a public service, too many people goin' 'round without proper drinkin' learnin'.

next time i'll tell you how i brought internet and television to that apartment.

Jack Daniels isn't bourbon.

you were quick to pounce

in general Tennessee Whiskey is filtered before it is barreled (and that filtration uses sugar/maple charcoal, primarily to impart flavor) and Bourbon is filtered after barreling (usually to remove impurities and not necessarily to impart flavor).

Speaking of AMC, are you a fan of Hell on Wheels? I liked but didn't love the first season. So far, I've DVR'd the second season but haven't got around to watching it.
I can be guilty of reading poor advanced reviews then writing off the show and not giving it a shot until I hear good things. Hell on Wheels is one of those shows, I think I could enjoy the show due to the setting. Maybe I'll play catch up if we have a long lock-out.

Any goalies looking for a team for inline Neville league?

Hey all, me and a few college buddies are looking to make a team for Neville. We never played there before but played every year at college
We are struggling to find a goalie though since they need to be on skates I believe.

Anyone interested?

I guess it is not just Crosby. Philly: **** twitter.

Philadelphia: Home of the Rudest Twitter Users

Brotherly Love? Not on Twitter.

By Kristin Wong 1 hour ago

The Internet is a scary place. While the Web has its share of uplifting articles and cute cat videos, it can also be a virtual wild west, filled with spiteful scoundrels ready to take their anger out in the form of blog posts, comments and, of course, Tweets.

Ah, Twitter. What better way to vent your rude frustrations than online, within the parameters of 140 characters? And—sorry Philadelphians—a recent survey shows that the rudest Twitter users happen to be from Philly.

A new "Twitter Heatmap" has discovered where the U.S.'s most polite and rudest Twitter users are located. How did they accomplish this?

"We scanned for tweets containing phrases 'Good morning' and '******* you' in 462 specific locations within United States."

Because the map scans the Twitter behavior over a period of 10 days, it's difficult to be completely conclusive when pinpointing the results. But CBS studied the map long enough to proclaim:

"…the highest concentration of rude Twitter users seems to be from the Philadelphia area."

So do the findings hold true? Well, as Twitter handle @LUMP put it:

"Study: The City Of Brotherly Love may have the rudest Twitter users…F*** this study. #Philly"

For that I'd rather just snuggle with my fiancee. Feels better and leaves no yucky aftertaste.

Oh and for the record, Crown Royal >>> Jack Daniels AINEC.

So, I think I've finally met "the one." Not to get all mushy, but I've been dating this girl for about 7 months, and it's been perfect in every sense of the word. I love her like I can't even begin to describe.
