Plekanec to Chicago

I just think Plekanec is the perfect fit for their 2nd line center spot. That would give them a killer top 6. What would it need to pry him out of Montreal?
It was rumored that Timmins was extremely high on Teravainen at draft day. Would a deal centered around Plekanec for Teravainen ++ works? What would make it done?

TT would need to be in the deal but not sure habs sell for futures, not yet.

Pleky also fits perfectly in our 2nd line.

Teravainen or Saad is who Montreal demands. Chicago promptly declines, countering with Morin and Beach, which Montreal declines and we reach an impasse. This may be a deadline consideration but the Habs are not selling off yet. Personally, I believe they should move Plek however it likely will not happen.

Montreal would ask for more than just Teravainen or Saad. They are great prospects but they didn't prove anything yet. Morin and Beach are decent prospects but they would not land a player like Plekanec by themselves. A substantial + would need to be added.

I'd do TT for Plekanec from the Hawks perspective.

Timmins loves Teravainen, so that would be where it would start.

When 2/3 of his line got traded last year with no one back in trade to replace them, the writings on the wall. Gomez will get Gionta and Bourque, Pleks will get the scrubs, wait and see.

I hope Pleks asks for a trade during training camp. He deserves a lot better.

Sad how unappreciated is Pleks even by habs fans.

How do you figure? The majority of the replies suggest plekanec isn't being sold, not yet. You can't seriously believe he's 100% untouchable. If habs suck 2 years in a row, there may be a new direction. I don't consider the idea crazy, I just consider the proposition of trading plekanec NOW to be rather unlikely and borderline retarded. We'll see how season plays out. If someone wants Plekanec right NOW, major overpayment.

Who says he's unappreciated by Habs fans. Gauthier traded 2/3 of his line away. Did Bergevin go after Jagr and/or AK, players that Pleks like playing for. No, he didn't.

It's management that needs to reach out to Pleks and by actually doing something positive, so he feels he's a wanted and needed part of the team. Until that happens most of you guys/gals are dreaming in Technicolour.

Roy, Filppula, Weiss, Fisher, Zajac, McDonald (I think he can play C), Connolly, Bozak, Ribeiro, Antropov.

Just some potential 2nd line centers that are UFA next year. Not all of them will be available, but not all of them will re-sign.

Of course I'd like to get Zajac or Weiss the most, and i don't want any of the guys that have ever played for the Leafs (Connolly, Bozak, Antropov), not a bias, they're just inferior players in this case.

And yes I'd like Plek, but I don't see a trade working right now.

I'd want Mark McNeil and another piece coming back from Chicago. McNeil would be a perfect big right handed center behind Galchenyuk. And he's of the right age to develop with the Habs young prospects. Teravainen is a type we have too many of... Small and soft.

I'm sure TT would be included... that's something I do not want. Sure, Pleks is better and getting a Top6 player signed for a prospect is always a positiv for my team, but all I'm saying is that it would suck to lose Teräväinen.

I doubt we could get Pleks for TT straight. Then it comes to what we are adding.

BTW, I don't see Bowman going after a #2 Center with his prospects developing and paying the price it would take to get Plekanec

How many times does Plekanec to Chicago need to get shot down? The Habs want more than the Hawks want to give up, always.

Can the Canucks have Pleks then? Do we even have prospects that MTL even wants? Name the price and we can work from there.

Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Booth - Plekanec - Kassian
Higgins - Kesler - Hansen
Raymond - Lappy/Malholtra - Weise/Volpatti

Nothing wrong with having three lines that can score and two lines that can shut-teams down. Pleks will help take some tough minutes away from Kesler (who is playing the most defensive zone starts, #1PK minutes, #1 ES minutes, and #1PP minutes. We could afford both Pleks and Doan if we move Luongo and Raymond/Ballard.

I would think Montreal would want guys with size and skill...maybe N. Jensen + Gaunce + 1st/2nd?
