Only team that works without winning is the Habs. This city is Habs + everything else that wins.
And look at the Als, it's already dropping.

Like any expansion team it is hard to get a winning team. They usually always get scraps from other teams. But what really helped were the signings. As a expansion team we are lucky to get guys like Nesta and Di Vaio.

I`m really looking forward to next year as we can still improve this team even more. I think we have potential to be a really solid team in the MLS for years to come.

And that's exactly why Saputo and co have to market guys like Wenger, Valentin and Brovsky. Great kids with good skills that aren't good enough to be bought be Euro clubs. They will be with the club for a long time and they will be core players. Sure, they won't be superstars, but they are the kind of people/players that are VERY easy to love. Bernier isn't that old, he could be here for a long time. I doubt he wants to go back to Europe to play in lower leagues.

I see no reason whatsoever why we won't challenge 1st overall (in standings of course) next season.

Not only the glamour signings of Nesta and Di Vaio, but we did a goob job acquiring good free agents from Europe like Rivas, Felipe and Bernier. Our club is rapidly gaining a lot of credibility in soccer circles. I don't remember where, but I read that some of Nesta's friends are inquiring about the possibility of playing in Montreal somehwere down the line. We're getting noticed by big time players, that's a great thing.

MLS Specialists finally showing some true love. Starts around the 30:00 mark

Simon Borg mentionned something legit, 3 of our next away games.. Chicago, Columbus & DC.. our 2-10-whatever away record is irrelevant right now. We basically got to win those 3 away games

Simon Borg has been the most positive proponent of the Impact since the Orlando pre-season tournament. He had doubts on playoffs with so many avoidable losses but likes the way they play.

Exactly! Few of them are pessimists and don't believe in MTL (Greg Lalas doesn't seem to like us.. And Talking about Lalas, what does Alexi Lalas have to say about this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBCZC-CBZzs Undefeated with Nesta.). Better that way, doubters have been around the whole year, and the team seems to do better when they are loud.

Also.

Whats more impressive, 14K for a reserve game, or the goal?

There's a good text by Pascal Milano in today's La Presse about the academy.

A few minutes in: http://nasn.tv/2012/mls-in-30-episode-4/

I ****ing hate how people don't understand. Folk hero or not, Patty B was not playing well, was slow, couldn't pass. Things weren't right. The benching was the best thing that happened for him/the team.

I don't agree. He played a very good game in New York at the beginning of the season and was benched after. It was utterly ridiculous.

Well, his performances were uneven at the beginning of the year and we don't know how well he was doing during practice. I do agree that, on the surface, the benching seemed ridiculous, but we can't really argue taht it "worked" in the long run. Bernier is now our best player.

Do you guys follow the other teams in the MLS? We are on a hot streak with 5 wins, but there are other teams who are just as dominant (a few we're chasing actually).

It's pretty much his personal mission to bring soccer to Montreal, and he's done a great job so far. The Impact is a personal project for him.

New Impact season ticket prices coming out today.. Saputo said they didn't let the recent attendances get to them, and the prices will be a way to thank the fans.

Philly, New York & Chivas all have to win tonight, please

#imfc attendance 2nd best in league. 2012 holders getting rebate on this year's seats. A rebate. Wow! This is bloody impressive.

Anyone interested in splitting season tickets? I want to get some but I won't be available for all games.
