Yeah Hamilton has looked pretty lacklustre these couple games. However it's TWO games people not nearly enough to warrant saying all the hype he receives is unearned. Hamilton just came off a season where he was named the CHL's best defenceman. Two bad games after not playing for a few months with players you're unfamiliar with doesn't erase what he accomplished before.

No, I haven't watched the other 6-7 prospects you are comparing him to.

From our conversation that's what you took from it? cool

He found Schiefele perfectly in stride and set up a breakaway. Not much to complain about.

Rielly's potential is incredibly high especially considering he missed almost all of last season so he has only played 83 games (or a single NHL season) in the WHL. I can see him taking a huge step forward this year as with his skill level he should be dominant in junior hockey. Getting a chance to play for team Canada at the WJC should also be great for his development.

By the end of the game I was so sick of watching Hamilton and Murphy cough up the puck and make terrible passes. Big surprise though, they were still being sent out every second shift the whole game. So far Canada's best defensemen have been from this past draft, Murray, Dumba, Rielly and Ceci.

I almost wonder if some of the mistakes came from just being played too much by the coach. Have a lot of solid D, so just use them. Certainly both guys are better than what we've seen, but rely on those that are currently looking good.

As to Rielly have enjoyed watching him in this so far. Wasn't anything amazing on his goal, just playing smart. Never a bad thing having the sense of when the move right in from the point for a tap in.

Sounds like some Sabres fans are happy with Grigorenko

We sit and wait.

While we wait, I wonder about the Buffalo Sabres and their quest to identify the centreman that they are looking for. Might they have found their #1 centre in Mikhail Grigorenko? Is his stellar play at the Canada-Russia Challenge in Yaroslavl is any indication, perhaps the Sabres already have their new 31 pivot already signed and in their back pocket.

Perhaps Regier and Ruff are thrilled enough with Grigo's recent stellar showing at Sabres prospects camp in early July, and now his current growth and dominating performances playing alongside Nail Yakupov at the U-20 event that they feel confident playing Grigo between Vanek (or another high profile LW) and Pominville once training camp and the preseason schedule begins. barring a lockout, of course.
I know, we're all lovers of our own prospects.

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.

I enjoyed listening to Mike Johnson rip on Grigs, saying how he doesnt have the pace to play in the NHL right now, basically calling him lazy.

Yea he's definitely kind of slow. Reminds me of Anisimov but with more skill and less speed.

So happy I'm in Halifax. Saw them all at the waterfront today. Rielly took a picture with me. Such a nice kid. Can't wait to see them in action!

Dominating performances? I'm guessing he needs to take the blinders off. Grigorenko is a good prospect deserved to be a top ten pick, but I'm thrilled we were able to pick Rielly now.

Hamilton and Ouellet are sitting out.

I can only assume Rielly will be sitting out tomorrows game since he'd be the only one not to miss a game, along with Harrington I believe.

Reinhart is dealing with a stinger.
