His trade value is awesome. I traded Barker, Paajarvi, Omark, 1st, and 3rd to Montreal for Subban, Pacioretty, and Eller.

Why would montreal pick him up? He'd be our 9-10th d-man. I'm not saying habs are stacked but they have a bunch of useful depth d-man as it is. Why add a useless depth d-man?

So he's basically like Chris Campoli? Maybe slightly better?

The Swiss League! EV Zug! That's a bad ass name.

More like slightly worse. I'd rather have Campoli.

One of Minnesota's worst moves ever was trading Leddy for Barker; guy's not fit to play in the NHL.

Wow. This is the opposite of the Ryan Kesler/Mike Camalleri/Corey Perry draft year.
Less than 66% NHL pass rate.

How did Boris valabik get picked 10th overall?!?
Thelen? Picard? Chucko? Kaspar?

No wonder his time in Chicago made him seem like such a good player. Getting Leddy for him was a great deal.

If he signed with his hometown Winnipeg Jets, we'd have the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th overall picks from the 2004 draft.

Either the bar was set low, very low, for the GM or Oilers fans were deluded.
I guess a lot of Oil fans thought either he's still decent and the Wild just weren't using him correctly, or they thought he could turn it around with them. I remember a lot of Wild fans telling Oiler fans just how terrible he is and many of them didn't believe it or didn't want to believe it. Either way, both teams suffered the curse of Cam Barker.

i really really wanted him to be decent in MN at least, but had to admit he wasn't. Just seemed so...Who was it that quit hockey because he just didn't like it? Daigle? I think Cam doesn't like hockey, but doesn't have a passion for resorts or restaurants or whatever it was Daigle ended up doing so he just plugs along. He should take a cooking class or something.

I'd take a flyer out on him if he is still free by September and Rozsival and Kubina are signed. One year, two way, low low low cap hit/salary and our someone following him around so Vignault can scream at him 24/7. Get him so pissed off he uses his talents to try to shut our coach up, then profit.

Then again, Brett Hull said something to the tune of "I don't like hockey, I'm just good at it", and look at his career.

I don't know if he was. I'd have to defer Hawk fans for confirmation on that. If he was though, I'd be pretty nervous if I was a Nuck fan after signing Garrison.

If he doesn't sign with DET or PHI, which he probably won't. He's that bad in my opinion. Barker can enjoy fine chocolate, precision time pieces and tours of particle colliders.

Barker made his living on the powerplay. Honestly he was our best PP defenseman in 08. Better than Campbell, Keith, Seabrook. Then Keith stepped up on the PP, Barker got his time knocked down, he got traded, and has seemed to fall apart.

Valabik had good potential but it was ruined by knee injury

We were not pleased . A few thought he could turn his game around . We agreed it was a low risk move as for his one year deal . That a big difference then saying we were pleased

On a new note Barker will be back in the NHL . There a few teams looking for a stick boy i heard . Do not quote me on this . Also he been interviewed for the water boy job with some team . Now that quality H2O
