Boucher has 13 goals in 12 November games! This was only his second November game where he's had any assists.

It is not a problem of being lazy maybe at the next level of course being a Devils prospect you guys will have coaches teaching him exactly how to play your system.. I'm sure he will learn right. As of right now though he is not being asked to be an ace defensively.
This sounds like he plays defence the way Ovechkin plays defence, just looks to hit the puck carrier and nothing else.

He's definitely going to have to learn to play proper defence if he wants to make it as a Devils prospect.

With 13 goals in 12 games this month, Boucher should be in contention for OHL player of the month. Strome is probably going to win though

Clarkson isn`t far from that. And I`m sure he`ll learn, sooner or later. Zubrus is his mentor after all.

I'd love for him to be Zubrus, just more physicality, maybe a bit more offense too.

I was referring to the U.S. U-20 team, but it would be nice to have them both make the NHL too

Gotta be honest, at first I too was like "DD set the expectations really high, weird", but then I realized what you were referring to.

True. I'd be happy if he turned into a Zubrus clone, and thrilled if he became Zubrus with better offence.

That's awesome. I hope he stays on this tear for a long time before the inevitable cold streak follows.

He and Galchenyuk (who had a hat trick tonight) are both playing extremely well right now. It's a real good sign that Boucher can excel with top-tier talent.

Boucher's scouting report always reminded me of Sykora. If he can be anything like Sykie in his prime we got a steal.

Sykora in his prime was an elite winger, I highly doubt Boucher will be anything close to that productive. At the same age Sykora put up 18 goals in 63 NHL games (42 points).

Looks like the Swift Current boys had a good night too. Graham Black is playing much better than I expected him to.

Graham Black is having a good season, but it's important to remember he was drafted at 19 last year, so he's one of the older guys

Black joined the WHL later than most kids though. I guess that could bode better or worse for his development, but regardless, putting up points is always good.

Black has Graves' disease that gave him problems when he was younger. I would say that is probably the main reason for his slower development.

I'll tell you one thing about Ben Johnson, that kid has some wheels, and a Parise-esque motor that did not quit. And he's REAL good defensively. From that Kitchener/Windsor game I watched, he's mostly being relied on in the defensive zone on a crash and bang sorta line. He showed some soft hands on his goal and he surprised me with his vision a couple times, but he looks to be pretty average offensively. But the hockey sense is there. I can understand why people got a "Henrique" impression from him, but I don't think we can expect an offensive epiphany out of Johnson. He could be a real dependable bottom 6 guy in the future though.

People really need to stop with that Henrique comparison. What you just described is a less offensively gifted Helm and from what I`ve seen, that`s a fairly accurate assessment of him. People should not expect him to produce at a high rate, even less while playing on a struggling team. What they should expect is what you said, quickness and top notch defense mixed with a little bit of an offensive spark.

He could become a valuable bottom 6er.
