Liam Gallagher's voice died a long, long time ago.

How dare they sing Wonderwall. That's Noel's song, not Liam's.
...and he sounds terrible too.

Yeah their closing ceremonies seem A LOT better than ours were, despite the Spice Mom's.

To be fair, if they limited themselves to songs Liam wrote it'd be a pretty short (and bad) list.
Jessie J? Who the hell is she and why is she signing Freddie Mercury's song? Awful.

I think she's better off singing other people's songs than her own...

I thought London's opening and closing ceremonies were a lot better than Vancouvers...

I disagree. Why Britain would choose their bad 80s music I will never know.

Also, a lot of local celebs, sitcom stars etc. that people outside of GB have never heard of. It would be like us trotting out Brent Butt for a Corner Gas skit.
The funniest line, 'They can unite a whole city for the games, but not the Gallagher brothers for one song'. I laughed when they brought out the Spice Girls, but wow were they ever off-key.

I love the Spice Girls and have seen them live and were great, but that was just AWFUL. Probably because they were in cars about 80 feet away from each other.

Elton John's absence seems odd.

I'm not sure they were ever on key (live anyway)

I still think closing with the Rolling Stones would have been the best. "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you get what you need."

As opposed to the currently relevant Pet Shop Boys?

I liked our closing. The parade of stereotypes was great. We made fun of ourselves and didn't take ourselves too seriously.

Seems to me Paul MaCartney and Pink Floyd are pretty old rockstars too...you're just picking favorites...IMO, they're all great.

Didn't like ours, we were putting on a show for the World but telling jokes only we would get.
