I got my $50 back via my %15 discount when I bought my authentic jersey.

Aw noo... I thought you would have gotten in Yukon Joe. Serious bummer... well I guess there's always next year right?

I thought when they made it a Friday thing that it would stay open all weekend but I seriously underestimated the demand.

I got on the list last year after being unble to snag season tickets dispite having three computers going at noon. I renewed for this season as well. I'm now $200 deep for two seats on the waiting list. I must say, best $200 I've ever spent. I made it to 5 games last season and sent some family members to a few games. I saved tons of Jets Gear with my 15% off as well.

Personally I'm glad there is a fee and I not fighting 100,000 + people for seats right before the games I want to go to.

I was 120 on the list last year, opted out of back to fronts during the survey they sent. Can't wait till the 20th to see where I'm on the list this year. (guessing i'll be around 70ish)

I am not on the waiting list, I already have four tickets and the Jets called today and offered me another seat. I took it. I guess those on the list are balking at taking a single seat. Now I have 3 in a row and another pair.

It is also $50 fee to be put on the IceCaps wait list as well. It must be a TNSE thing.

It is actually a sports thing...see Boston, Vancouver, Calgary, Chicago and many NFL examples

I won't buy, but mostly because I don't need to. Through work and friends, I made it to 15 games last year and didn't pay for one.

It doesn't really effect me at all, it just rubs me the wrong way, and seems like a money grab.

At the end of the day, 8k people at $50 a piece is only $400k, or about half a game's payroll. It's not going to break them, or make them rich. Why do it?
Have you gone on to other teams forums asking them how they feel about charging these kinds of fees? Is there any particular reason why you are targeting Jets fans with this question?

Are you even a Jets fan? It doesn't look like it based on your profile pic.

Common practice in many markets, as others have mentioned. I would suggest that if this alienates someone, then they probably would not make a great customer anyway.

Just MO, of course.
But but, your location on your profile says "Winnipeg"

For those that got on the waiting list this year, what date did TNSE say we would find out what number we are on the waiting list?

Congrats to the people who got on, you'll find it well worth the money. I got to see a dozen games last year, mostly with the help of the monthly and game-day pre-sales to the wait-list, and I could have easily seen more. It not only gives you a chance to see a bunch of games before you get season tickets but you also have a far better chance at lower bowl tickets than you do when you finally get called up for season tickets, as I imagine it'll be mostly upper deck available.

Itchy.

On topic: my brother and father are on the waiting list, so I'll mooch from them if they ever happen to get ST's.

I'm a Bruins fan first and foremost, but live in Winnipeg, and support the Jets.

Not sure why I would care about other teams charging these fees as it doesn't really effect me.

I also anticipate they'll let us know when they'll be send out our Jets Gear discount cards in the Wait List position update email.

I think charging customers to sign up for the list and pay to stay on it is a great thing. It really separates the pretenders from the contenders in terms of who is actually interested in eventually securing season ticket packages.

In the mean time, I'm confident that remaining on the Wait List for decades will give me lots of opportunities to get access to game tickets that I actually want.

Getting shut out of season tickets and a Wait List position last year sucked for me and many others. By being persistent and scrambling for holds released on Ticketmaster between 72 hours before puck drop til game day proved very rewarding for myself, as I was able to secure 20 pairs of tickets.

This time, I'm really paying $100 per year for that "heads up" email when they'll be releasing additional tickets. Well worth it to those who plan on attending a lot of games.

Because you make it sound like a crime against nature, or something of that magnitude. It happens to many other teams from what I gather, and perhaps even your beloved Bruins. Do you care about their fanbase just as equaly? If you do, I suggest you make a big stink about it on their forum as well.

Sorry, there has just been lots of whining about the owners and their business handlings lately that it's getting on my nerves.
