Wow. Maine's the worst team in Hockey East, and they some how swept BC. The scores would indicate they didn't just squeak by either. Good for Shore on picking up 2 points in the the 2 games.
Yeah hopefully Shore is getting some more responsibility for the tail end of his freshman season.
I read an article recently that he's back on the 1st line. I think in November they made an all-Freshman line he was on that was basically the 2nd line, but they looked pretty good from reports.

So what's up with Guptill? Seems like whenever someone who watches play talks about him, they think the world of him, but I just don't see that in the stats.
Is he just not getting as much ice time and responsibility as he could by playing for such a high-powered school, or is he just not that good?
What do you mean they're not up to date? They're updated in the fall.
If it's every fall, then that's what they meant. They don't update them often enough.

Only in that case. I'd like to get updates on Oleksiak, Nemeth, Ritchie, Chiasson, Fraser, Campbell, et al. more often than just every fall. Oleksiak is still stuck at 7.5 C and Fraser on 6.5 B on here, when both are on the AHL all-star roster.

Well rankings are different from grades. A prospect's grade isn't going to change too much because of short-term accomplishments or setbacks.
My opinion on the Oleksiak grade would be that it's too conservative. He should be either an 8.0 C or a 7.5 B
Rankings on HF are based on a combination of the numerical and letter grades- with the former getting precedence over the latter- are they not? Fraser is ranked 13th among Stars prospects as a result of his 6.5 B. Also the list still has Eakin, Dillon, and Smith. It definitely needs to update itself more often than 1 year.

It seems to be a combination of Michigan being a bad team and Guptill's play disappointing. By most accounts Michigan has a weak crop of seniors and juniors and the opportunity is there for freshmen and sophomores to take over. Guptill was rewarded in such a manner last year as a freshman. Yet this year he hasn't been able to take the next step and become a breakout leader of the team in the same way that R. Smith was able to at Miami. That said, he's still one of Michigan's top scorers. He has too much skill to be shut out completely. Does he have the work ethic and drive to go along with it is the question.
Well of course they are. I'm just saying that one is not the automatic result of the other. There's a degree of leeway to how the rankings are arranged.
