Saw Rask play in Red Deer last night. He was the best player on the ice when he seemed to have his head in the game. That was about half his shifts and enough to get him the GWG late in the third. How can a guy that be so dominant one shift and then be so invisible the next time never ceases to amaze me. Sick hands though. Score a beauty.
Consistency seems to be Rask's biggest problem, he is not the fastest guy either. I thought he was really good in a couple of WJC-games last year but completely invisible in the other games. He is however very smart and he has some really nice offensive tools while being defensively responsible.
You may be right. But was under the impression that we were icing 7 D 13 FW? one D will be cut, that's for sure. Right now we have 14 FW, how many players can you register? Wasn't Boyce the only extra last year? did anyone take Åberg's place? My memory fails me.
Boyce flew over when Åberg got injured, didn't he take Åberg's place? Or was he registered from the beginning?
If there are no injuries, that is. Don't know what they'd do if there's more than 1 injury before 26th on any position, but André Burakovsky is the next guy on FW and gotta believe it's Byström on D?

Is Burakovsky above Åberg on such a list? If so Åberg must've pissed somebody off.. He's not been THAT bad.
It's a joke that Ottawa didn't let Zibanejad go to the tournament. Just imagine the outrage Hockey Canada would have if Edmonton refused to let RNH go. FFS The competition in the WJC is probably pretty close to the AHL.

It's close but definitely not better, plus you're playing on big ice and not against men. I don't blame Ottawa one bit, especially with Zibanejad taking awhile to adjust to North American hockey.

Take it with a pinch of salt, but last word on the street is that they were willing to let him go but he's been out for two weeks now with illness/headaches so that made it a no-deal. One has to wonder how much he'd help the Swedish team at this point anyway. He's low on confidence, he hasn't been playing for a while, and the tournament starts in 12 days. Sweden will be OK at forward.
Who knows, if NHL reaches a deal this discussion would've been for nothing.
He is centering one of the two top-lines along with Lindholm. I would call him the 1a center and Lindholm the 1b, Karlsson will probably be used more in certain situations.
Darn I didn't know that. So on defense who will lead in points in your opinion ?
Can't expect Lindholm to do it all, doubt he will finish top 2 in defensive points.
Vikstrand will be the #1 PP guy, so much is clear. Other than him I expect Djuse and Lindholm to see PP time. Swe's 1st unit likely has four forwards.
I still think Lindholm has a solid chance on leading the D's in points because of the minutes he'll play. The expected would be Vikstrand, and my darkhorse would be Bengtsson.
