St-Denis should be captain.

But who's gonna score goals for this team?

You think ? He sounded like he was impressive. If there wasn't a lockout he'd probably be on the dogs.

I think St-Denis, or even (unfortunately) Stortini could get it. I'm hoping Hagel gets an "A" at least.

Obviously speed and acceleration are the big issues. But I think Geoffrion
lacks strength. I never had the impression that he lacked any grit.
And another poster claimed that he didn't work hard enough. I certainly
do't agree with that. I think it is hard work, and really good understanding
of the game, that have got him this far. But with-out better skating this
might be all he has.

Geoffrion's problem is that it's not a problem. You have there the perfect case of a guy who had reached his ceiling when he was drafted. Plain and simple. Yes, he did improve, yet, from having seen him play in his draft year, he just seemed like the same type of player that they drafted and that I hoped we had drafted. But this is another reason why there is some guys in the early rounds that don't pan out and sometimes you just can't do nothing about it. Scouting is all about projecting....but it's impossible to know if a guy is leaning towards the end of his progression unless you know he doesn't have the work ethic to progress which I don't believe it was the case for Blake. So it comes down to the natural process of a prospect not being able to progress.

Send a message via MSN to Rise from the Ashes
Geoffrion and Palushaj need to produce and be leaders for this team or they may have trouble landing an NHL spot in the future.

Not sure if it means anything....and not that it's that problematic....but Ray Shero, Jason Botterill and Bill Guerin went to visit their farm team in Wheeling....With all the players coming from Wilkes-Barre and Hamilton, an educated guess would be to think that if a team needs to send their players somewhere else than Wheeling....it's us. Not Pittsburgh. Would be interesting to see what happens with some of our guys.

Yes, That is how I see him, as already having reached his ceiling. But that
isn't why I responded to a couple of posts. One claimed that he lacked grit.
Okay, maybe, or maybe not. But the other claimed that he lacked "work ethic".
And I was offended by this. I think this guy reached his ceiling, in part because
he worked very hard.
I'm sorry for getting offended, and certainly not at you, but some people
just attack a players character, because they have nothing useful to say.
End of rant.

HAMILTON, ON – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the Club has released defencemen Etienne Boutet, Antoine Corbin and Kevin Gagne and forward Stephen MacAulay. Boutet will return to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s Rimouski Oceanic, Corbin to the Western Hockey League’s Prince Albert Raiders and Gagne and MacAulay to the QMJHL’s Saint John Sea Dogs. 24 players now remain on the Hamilton Bulldogs training camp roster.
So this leaves us with only 6 D's on the current roster...

Let me throw this curveball; PK Subban joins the Dogs.

Why? He's not playing, from Ontario and he could become a leader for our young D.

He can't, he wasn't on an AHL clear day roster last year.

He can't be sent down by management. However, he can sign a contract with the Dogs if he wants. Not saying it's going to happen though.

Holland-Nattinen-Blunden
Stortini-Dumont-Boyce

The Sea Dogs and their fans thank Hamilton for returning MacAulay and Gagne to us. Glad to hear they made a good impression, a couple of good, solid kids.
