first game and nothing is set in stone but I really think that the 2 next froward prospects to play with the CH, Gallagher and Leblanc, should be playing together. It will only help the transition for both. Same as with Patches and DD. Also, the offensive is lacking pure talent so I'd really put my 3 best forwards together and hope for the best with the other lines. Playing with Blunden and Boyce will only prevent Leblanc of being creative offensively and might take a toll on his confidence.

Agreed, this thread should be for ''general'' discussion.

I wouldn't number @BulldogsAHL lines. There are three well-balanced lines and a "checking" line that is going to be tough to play against.

Already a message sent to Leblanc?
In front of a almost all rookie defense, and without his starting
goalie, the coach loaded up one line he could trust at both ends of
the ice. I assume they will play the most minutes, and against the
opponent's top line.
I'm curious, what message do people think this is sending to Lablanc ?
That he is the teams most important player, perhaps.

Is Nattinen hurt or something?

And I don't know where Lefebvre got this idea that Leblanc should be playing with Boyce and Blunden, but it's a horrible one.
Leblanc with Boyce and Blunden will be an extremely good checking line, that will get it's share of scoring chances.Geoffrion when playing in college as a Nashville prospect played mostly at center.Leblanc when called up to the Habs will play on the 3rd line until his defensive game is really good, like most prospects they work their way up to the top lines. The defence pairings suggest the coaches are confident with Tinordi/Ellis's defensive play and both are capable of good breakout passes.Naatinen and Desjardins are still not ready to play.People are down on Boyce but he works hard and is a checking fiend you will see that's his forte.Hagel/Dumont/Stortini will be another strong checking line and with Boyce's line the Bulldogs have great PK units.Leblanc & Boyce 1st PK and Dumont & Stortini the 2nd PK unit depending when penalties occur, obviously.

Because Leblanc is a winger at the NHL level. He doesn't have the vision to be an offensive center. He's better down the wing.

He might be good at center in the AHL but he needs to be able to play wing if he is going to be in the NHL. Pleks, Desharnais, Eller and Galchenyuk are probably ahead of him in the center depth charts at this point.

Is Nattinen injured or scratched?

Agree that Leblanc is better off as a winger at the NHL level, especially if he stands any shot of being a top 6 forward. Though either way I can see him and Eller as a good two way pairing someday.

That would be disappointing, I thought he was one of their best players in preseason.

Everything is owned by Andlauer, Habs can't do **** without his approval (or finding another team to move).

Steve Quailer as a big center?

It seems that the Habs are trying out Quailer at Center. At 6'4, he definitely has the size we need at that position.

Thoughts?
