Pretty fitting actually. The story of our Olympics has been "almost". So i guess it makes sense.

The most amusing thing about these Olympics threads is that you see people who are never discussing some of these sports in any other context and are just here for nationalistic chest-thumping getting all mad at posters who follow them regularly that try to add objective analysis and criticism. Obviously, the soccer was the absolute worst one for this.

Nothing wrong with bring the 2nd best volleyball team in the world... losing will hopefully give them something to strive for and that hard work will hopefully payoff with a defeat over Brazil in Rio 4 years from now

Diving final going into its last round. Tom Daley takes the lead by .15 over the next two guys. Tension, certainly.

Wouldn't Daley winning be the equivalent as Ennis winning in track for Great Britain?

Maybe I am getting too old, but isn't that what the FIFA World Cup is for?

Daley might get bumped after that fantastic dive by the US.

Pretty much, although atlethics generally has a bigger profile. Irrelevant now anyway, the American Boudia just killed his dive to take the lead. Needs a flawless one from the last Chinese diver to be beaten.

Well they gave Bolt his baton after all.

Maybe they had to check it or something? Who knows.

I know nothing about the sport, but that final was pretty impressive and as tight as it possibly gets.
