Thought Tom Daly was the favourite to win by the way some of the brits were going on about him

Oh my, Pierre McGuire with Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant.

EDIT: That was a decent interview.

Silver in boxing with Russo and an incredible gold in taekwondo after Molfetta was down 4-9 with less than two minutes left!

Not bad to end the night!

Tom Daley was never favourite to win it. He was tipped to get a medal though.

It's only because the girls think he is good looking

I arrived at the gym last week during his synchronised event, everyone was watching the big tv so I asked someone "what's everyone watching" and the answer I got was "diving, Tom Daley is in it, that's why all the girls are watching it "

With men's Basketball, that will put the US at 45 golds, tying the best ever output of the US, but is there any other sport they can get over the hump for 46?

How come there are still some events left even after the closing ceremony?

It's not trolling if the rest of the volleyball community, including the US volleyball community knows the problem and laughs at the problem as I do.

Everybody predicted if the US were to go down, it would be like this. Everybody knew their issues, yet nothing was done on their part.

I'm actually a fan of the US women's team (second to the Brazillian team).. It was just so predictable the downfall of the team. Brazil had everything necessary to take down the athletic US squad, however, the Brazillian problem was/has always been fighting through adversity and the lows. The Brazillian's have a fantastic coach and it was only a matter of execution to take down the states.

"lol US Volleyball" is a perfect statement for them and there is no problem with it from anyone who knows about Volleyball. They've won various Volleyball titles but have not ever won any of the Major Tournaments.

Here's an equivalent analogy. I'm a Canucks fan and I'm perfectly fine with saying "lol Canucks" as a perfect descriptor for the team.

Uh... there aren't? Last event ends about an hour or 45 minutes before the closing ceremony.

You're right. I had the London time when looking at the events' schedule, like the basketball gold match is at 3pm London time and I knew the closing ceremony was at 1pm Los Angeles time. That's where my confusion started.

Me too. These have been my most watched Olympics. Before the London games, I barely watched the Olympics. I was still living at home so I had to share the internet and TV. With the 2012 games, I've learned a lot about the sports that I was always familiar with but never closely followed, like water polo and T&F. Back then, I didn't even know what decathlon or heptathlon was. 2012 Olympics really made me appreciate great athletes.

Personally, I don't care. Someone asked why he had a problem. I never said you were trolling or anything negative about your post. I just said what I thought he may have had a problem with is all. I played international vb and pro beach volleyball ( although i wasn't that great in the sand) and I said you were mostly correct. How you can take I thought you were trolling, I don't know But I definitely didn't think that at all

Oh no, I wasn't accusing you of calling me out for trolling. I was just countering the poster who was offended and decided to bait me back. Which I would be led to think that he thinks I'm trolling, when I'm simply stating what I see. The conversation seems to be deleted but I think the poster gets it now anyways.

When did you play/which teams have you played for! Awesome to know other volleyball players on these boards!

On the straight away it doesn't matter so long as it doesn't impede on anyone else.

Jake Varner just won Gold in wrestling at 96kg. He was expected to be a medal contender, but likely not for Gold. Great tournament for him.

Great final going on in volleyball. Russia came back from 0-2 to force the fifth set.
