Weber will stay if he EARNS it. No more, no less.
Pegula puts a big emphasis on family.
weber and ott are practically brothers.

i dont think its a stretch to believe that it plays a factor

I do.

I think if Gaustad and Roy are traded..Hecht not resigned...the team will do what is best for the team over any perceived "family factors".

Remember the difference in luck between him and Gragani early on? MAG would be the last man back, give up the puck, get knocked down, and Miller would be the spectacular save, whereas Weber would come over the boards and instantly have a puck go in.

He was bad, don't get me wrong, but his luck was incredible.

It didn't help that Ruff was matching him against the likes of Giroux, Spezza, etc. Again, not that Mikey was good or anything, but man, Lindy handled Grags with kid gloves (a big reason why Erhoff/Myers had slow starts offensively) and threw Weber to the wolves.

Ehrhoff has done well with slow-footed bottom pairing guys before (O'Brien), I could see them having some chemistry if Sulzer falters.

I'm sorry - where do I say anything even close to "Weber sucked because of MAG"??... Implying such makes you look a little out of touch.

I'm saying it, I don't care if that makes me out of touch or whatever. Their insistence on playing MAG over Weber and for that matter giving MAG PPT over Myers. They were marketing MAG for a trade, and while I agree with the premise I think they may have shot themselves in the foot, because it added up to a few less points in the standings, possibly.

Having said that, Weber needs to be prepared to play, you can't stuff like that as an excuse to suck. There's a reason why they refer to these guys as "pros".

Are you joking? MAG had nothing to do with Weber's actual on-ice play. Nothing. Zero. My point was that The Great Grangini dressed for games over Weber when MA was playing horrendous hockey. Weber should've been inserted earlier. That was my only point in my initial comment.

Wasn't Weber paired with Grags for a while? I feel like that was just asking for disaster.

In theory, it's what you want in a low-budget 3rd pairing. Dependable stay-at home physical dman and PP specialist. Problem is neither was very good at their specialty.
