Walcott has the same salary as Luis Suarez now. If you don't see the problem with that contract, I don't know what to tell you. You won't be able to sign a single quality player without paying that weekly wage out now for one.

This makes no sense at all.

Walcott is not a top player. He has 10 starts on the season. Arsenal has played 21 games.

If your top player spends more time off the pitch then on, then you're in trouble.
If you're so impressed by Theo's pace, I'm sure you loved Shawn Wright-Philipps didn't you?
How about you sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang? He's probably as fast as Walcott (while being stronger), he's just as good a footballer (if not better), and he'll cost you two peanuts.

coming from the person who barley watches the gunners....

walcott was put on the bench a lot this season due to complications with his contract... he has also had a few knocks here and there...

last year:

bale 9 goals 9 assist

theo 8 goals 8 assist

this year:

bale 9 goals 3 assist

walcott 8 goals 6 assist

this is also theo starting in less games

According to the Mirror only. Most people with inside knowledge of the club say 100k.

In any case, I think Arsenal needed to keep Walcott, but 100k is a ridiculous contract for a player with his ability.

Theo is only 23 years old.... he has pace, he can finish, he can set up plays and dribble..

rather pay a little more to keep him than let him go, to teams like city, chelsea who will pay more...

It's a panic offer with losing Fabregas, Song and RVP in a short time the boardroom was definitely thinking about the backlash if they hadn't but at the same time they probably weren't thinking what impact it could have

Many Arsenal fans on twitter don't seem to agree Walcott is worth 100,000

Actually you just made something up to convince everyone...
And it's not like you can be convinced anyway.

Use your brain. Everyone here (and elsewhere) can see the obvious.

I told you he was not starting in most arsenal games which proves he is not a key player. I told you it was a mistake to overpay for above average palyers and explained you why.
Basically everything needed to understand the obvious.

and i have told you he has been knocked with injuries and has been sat due to complications with his contract...

if you can't see theo being a OBV starter on Arsenal... we should not be having this convo right now

he has been a starter every week for a while now..

7 games off the bench which means backup not injury or contract.

Southampton hire former Espanyol boss Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager. Saw something like this coming judged by their transfer activity, the club has been taking a more non-British approach.

Terrible to sack Adkins though. Promoted them twice and had them going pretty good of late.

Hazard has started 20 games and was a sub twice.
http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Footb...ueur28423.html

He's played 600 more minutes than Walcott.
Hazard is the second best passer in the league with 7 assists.

All of that while being two years younger and being twice the player Walcott is.
Yet Walcott's salary is extremely comparable to Hazard's.

What a busting argument !

EDIT : All of this while adjusting to a new league, while Walcott has been trying to be a real starter for 5 years now.

Walcott is certainly overpaid now but the alternative of letting him leave would have been worse for AFC in my opinion. It's the lesser of two evils. So I'm fine with it. Arsenal were going to lose the battle of public opinion no matter what they did.
